Say there was a person who you were totatlly disgusted by. Like cannot stand. And then they told you that either you have sex with him or he was gonna kill himself, what would you do? I got a friend in this situation and I need to give her some advice but even I don't know what to tell her?

That other person's life isn't her responsibility. She can offer help in other ways if she feels a need, but their life isn't really in his/her hands.

It should be obvious that having sex with someone won't prevent someone from killing themselves. The person getting what they want won't magically make all their mental problems going away, specifically the twisted ones that are asking such a horrific thing from someone.

"MARIAH Carey, 35, the planet’s most preposterous pop star, is not how you might imagine; pumped full of dreary pomp, a flint-eyed maniac manipulator or some fragile Bambi requiring 54 assistants for the business of lifting an eye-lash. She’s a nutter of a different hue; loony-tune cartoon camp, a guffawing, flamboyant, New York Personality who radiates several more dimensions of warmth than her lifetime’s legacy of comedy stunt yodelling could ever have you believe."

Ok, thanks. I'm gonna tell her not to do it. It makes sense that he's just trying to play on her emotions. And just between us, she's no spring chicken. I don't see what he's making a big fuss over.

People who genuinely want to kill themselves don't tell people they're going to do it, because they don't want to be stopped.

I'm going to sound like a complete !!%*+%%, but that person would have to kill themselves. I could never have sex with someone I don't want to have sex with. Sex doesn't seem to mean a lot to a lot of people, but it does to me.

Tell her to definitely not have sex with him. If she cares about his life, tell her to notify the police if she thinks he may harm himself. If it's manipulation, then he sucks and will have to live with the embarrassment of a police visit. If he is seriously that messed-up, then he needs help.

That's not necessarily true. Some people have killed themselves after talking about it. It may be a sign of wanting help. But sometimes they give up without getting it. If someone tells you they are going to commit suicide, it's better to be safe than sorry. Call 911. Let them know what's going on and they will go investigate.

That's not true, actually. Most suicidal people have a specific plan and will tell you about it if asked. We've had some suicidal teens where I work and have been through training for it.

I guess it's true. It's a problem my girlfriend came up to me and asked. I don't think she'd be asking me this for attention.

^ Some people can't stand it if someone doesn't like them. Aside from that, I think the topic question was a "joke" more than reality.

I agree with this being an unfunny "joke" but the funny thing is this actually happened to me once. image After I told her the night before very kindly that it wasn't gonna work, I was startled with a call at 3am, crying, begging to do it just once and threatened to down a whole bottle's content of drugs. Of course, knowing me, my first instinct was to ask what the drug was. image
