It doesn't sound like anything new and her voice sounds strained from the clip.

Sounds nice!
I want Mariah to give us a sneak peek too image
Alicia is releasing on November too (same day of Celine), and it just made me realize that we'll probably hear someting new from M any day now. Oh, the tension!

it sounds okay. the track isnt nearly as good as fallin or YDKMN. she does seem to be a bit out of her range... which she can have a tendency to do. in the end it is easier to determine my opinion of song once full version comes out.

I liked it at first...but now I see what y'all are saying about her vocals; at points in the song it doesn't even sound like her. It's definitely not her best effort, but it's better than most of the #%*! on radio nowadays (although that really ain't sayin much lol). I'm still eager to hear the work she's done with John Mayer though.

Now that I have heard the whole track I've actually grown to dislike it more. it drags on and is so boring. The vocals are way out of her range. She sounds like she is pain just singing it since she is screaming. Her normal singing voice is so beautiful. Im really dissapointed cause I was so sure she was going to deliever but unfortunately she didnt.

for her sake im sure this will get record of the year, song of the year and r&b vocal performance at the grammys. image image

It sounds like a rough demo version! Not as good as her previous first singles that were instant hits with me. Is that the best her album has to offer when it comes to first single material?

I don't know, maybe it will grow on me.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if Alicia Keys fades in 5 or 6 years. Then everybody will wonder who was that chick who used to get all the grammies!

thats what i thought! the more i listened to it, the less i liked it. it's not edgy or interesting. it seems to me that the label may be employing a strategy where the first single is mellow, and the second is a smash. well, at least i hope so for her sake.

in a negaative sense though, i really like that this is underwhelming. it bodes well that the golden child hit a roadblock.

yikes you guys are harsh. I love it... its my new favorite song. but then again, i love her and her music so I guess i'm a fan and this is just what I want from her. Its a great driving song I feel (i haven't driven withit yet so we'll see) it'll do well on Urban and Urban AC.

she was never teh pop crossover type artist anyway, just monster R&B singles.

I like it, I think it's going to do good. I just wish she didn't sing like that though, her voice sounds strange. I hope she has more songs like YDKMY, If I ain't Got You or Diary.

I'm not sure if it will be a hit just because I can't decide what format/audience will like it, but I know I like it. I don't love it, but it's easily among my favorite Alicia songs. Yeah, her voice is a little strained, but it's not terrible, and I like the feel of the song.

does not come close to her previous work. mediocre lead single. voice is more strained than usual. not suprising since she does scream/shout/overdo it with her live performances, and considering her musical background..... well.

Yes I agree with the others, this song / what Alicia releases will turn to gold, and beat out Mariah.

This song is going to be big. It's the poppiest song she's ever released and will definitely be big this fall. In two days she already has close to 6 million impressions, and doesn't even go for adds for another two weeks.
