Re: Thoughts on tonight

They're getting really tough this season. Did something happen to Paula in between last season and this season to make her jaded or something? I thought it was just yesterday, but I guess she's really adopted a tougher stance, and seems to take part in making fun of the contestants more now.

I wanted the gay Taylor Hicks to make it through :lol He does kind of look like him facially, but since he is a hairstylist, I wonder if his hair is really gray too.

What?

That "Taylor Hicks" guy was terrible. Why did you want him to make it through?

I liked the timbre of the guy who did "Arms Of A Woman" and looooved that he chose that song!

no offense to your city

but there are alot of weird people there. the show really didnt portray it well.... atleast talent wise. I just watched the show on DVR. that was BY FAR the worst auditions i ever saw!!! some of the people were just plain scary. that red head, computer geek, monkey (that was mean on simons part lol), and the haircut guy were all weird. what was he doing trying to give simon some hair gel?? what an idiot.

there was some nice talent... like the real tall girl, the brother/sister, and the girl from az.

I agree -

It's like people don't even watch it to see the good singers anymore, it's all about laughing at people making fools of themselves, and you just know that the majority of them are doing so for the attention.

Did anyone see that girl that came with her mother? They were both wearing wigs, and the girl had a blonde wig with bright red lipstick and glasses? It was clearly something that was rehearsed - she looked like a weird arty type that was doing it as part of a project or something like that:lol

It's like the show has gone from being about finding good singers to finding the worst for a cheap laugh.

That girl made me cringe.

I think I put it on mute at that point.
It was OK when they showed little flashes of each bad person on previous seasons. (I have the Season 1 DVD) But showing their back stories is excessive and rude.
The good singers they put through were just decent to me. There's no Jennifer or Carrie there.

First anniversary of Kelly's victories at the Grammys. 5th Anniversary of Kelly dominating American Idol.
Kelly just signed an unprecedented deal with NASCAR. WE HAVE A GUARANTEE TO HEAR A NEW SONG AT THE NASCAR TRIBUTE TO AMERICA MINICONCERT. (Perhaps not the single or not even on the album, and there is a very small possibility it's one we've already heard)

I thought the Monkey guy was so cool.

There was just something about his character and accent that was just :lol . He would make a great comedian/actor I think

Well...She was on it from April-September, winning Sept. 4th

but she did win in 2002...So it's been nearly 5 years since she was on.

God

that means I've been on this board for 5 years, too. Crazy.

It's so cool that Kelly has become an artist in her own right - that doesn't happen very often (especially not over here in the UK - I don't think the likes of 'Shane Ward' or 'Leona Lewis' will go very far. Unless they manage to "break away" (pun intended) from releasing 'A Moment Like This' songs like Kelly did)

It's a bit hypocritical of her to

slam 'AI' for mocking people and then proceed to do just that about Paula. Actually, it's hypocritical of her to slam them for mocking people when that's pretty much all she ever does these days.

Even though I do agree with her that the comments on that guy's physical appearance were not necessary, for Rosie to be the one that is pointing that out is somewhat rich.
