Anyone watch it tonight? It just ended.

Maybe, its just me, but I thought Paula was always the nice one, always saying yes, when the other two would say no, but she didnt seem very lenient tonight.

Some of the voices they rejected tonight didn't seem that bad. I thought the people who went through were usually the very good or the very bad. It was sad to see the contestant who flew out with her boss, get rejected marginally, along with the last kid who looked like he was plucked from 1994.

:eek @ the Shakira lookalike and soundalike.

Which good ones were eliminated?

I don't remember liking anyone they rejected. I felt bad for the girl whose boss flew her out, but she was terrible and didn't deserve to go through based on singing talent. The guy at the end with the "rock" voice tripped me out, and I agree with Jewel that he'd hurt his throat.

The only people I liked were the 'Shakira' girl, the Navy guy who did "Bless The Broken Road" (that has become a real standard already despite not much crossover play), and the girl who did that Deana Carter song (terrible song choice, but she seemed to have a good voice).

Paula has said interviews that she wasn't as "nice" in these auditions as she has been.

They didn't exactly seem good to me either, but

for a second it seemed like they were going to slide by and the judges seemed boderline on those two. And the girl with the boss seemed to do better when the boss came in the room.

She did better when he was in the room, but

as they pointed out, she will be alone in Hollywood. Also, she still had some pitch problems even when he was there (one note she went for she completely missed). It did seem like she was in love with him the way she sang "Fever" to him.

Re: She did better when he was in the room, but

Yuck!!!:x If she is in love with him, she needs to get out more and get some taste and be around some more attractive men her age. A beautiful woman like that shouldn't be interested in someone who looks like him. Sorry if that sounds cruel, but that's just my opinion.:lol

Oh! I just remembered that 16 year-old male whose

parents didn't support him coming out (pun intended) for the audition. He sang decently, though I don't see him as a winner unless he shows some variety.

Why do some of these people try out? Do they really think

they are good? Or do they just want their two minutes of fame? I've liked about one person, and that was out of sympathy. I'm forcing myself to watch.

"I'm watching American Idol right now trying to get myself to like it and so far the only things I find enjoyable are Kelly Clarkson's giant head behind Randy and the Grammy success mention in the montage."

Kelly just signed big deal with Nascar to make a song to be played at the beginning of Nascar TV events and to play a concert before the Daytona 500!! And Kelly guest-starred on Reba. Click HERE to download video from KCEMedia.
No single, photoshoot, track-listing, release date, or title, especially not anything resembling a leak...yet.

A message to the haters: “I like the criticism because it gives me a chance to prove them wrong." "There are going to be people out there who for some weird purpose will try to make your life miserable...There's a place in hell for them." "I will keep singing and making records. I am in this for the long run whether people want me here or not." "They're legends...I aspire to be that one day." "I looked out into the audience and there were so many people. The looks on their faces, to have that ability to inspire...I felt like I could change the world...it's worth it. I could care less about fame but I love being out on that stage." "So basically what you’re saying to me is that I have no talent and I’m riding off a show-ok so let’s see if I can change this." "I’m not materialistic, but I am ambitious."

Yeah, a lot of them just want TV time

The ones with gimmicks are especially obvious.

I think some people do think they are good; I know I can't sing, but I have had times where people say to me, "Wow, you sound good." I think a song just happened to match my natural key :lol Anyway, the point is that if I wanted to be a singer, I might take those comments to heart and audition.

I'm sure you'd be better than a lot of the people trying to

audition.
I think that I might skip these auditions all together and wait until they get to the Top 30 or whatever it is now, to bypass all the awful singers.
I can't stand to watch them. The bad ones that you can tell want to be on TV annoy me and the bad ones that you can tell actually thought they were good (like the Reflections girl today or the juggling 16 year old yesterday) make me feel embarrassed for them.

you know what?

I'm starting to get annoyed with the auditions. In the past year there were a few crazy people yeah but this season it's just absurd. Some of the people clearly have mental problems and it's really horrible that AI producers are using that for ratings. I do wonder how these people survive in real life but being made a show of is just plain wrong. Those auditions should never air. seattle has been horrendous. Even the ones that went through have nothing really to show. From the two auditions so far there's not a single soul that can have a career in the music biz.

They show too many of the bad ones

I wish we'd see at least an even mix of the good ones and the bad ones.

I also wish some of the "crazy" people would turn out to be good singers. Anytime they set up a story of someone 'weird,' you know they are going to suck.

Thoughts on tonight

I liked that Blake Lewis kid, and hid dad was really cool. "Crazy" wasn't a good choice (or the way he did it, anyway). I thought he sounded good with the jazzy stuff he was doing while beatboxing.

The young girl who did "Summertime" reminded me a lot of Christina Christian vocally. I agree her brother has a much bettre voice.

Simon tripped me out tonight (as usual)

I loved when that weird guy was saying people compared him to Justin Timberlake and "Lance..." and Simon said "Armstrong" :lol And his comment that "It would be like teaching a one-legged man how to win the 100 meter sprint" was brilliant :rollin Wrong...but :lol

That overweight guy who sang "God Bless America" reminds me of a guy named Kenneth I used to work with. Here is his myspace page:
profile.myspace.com/index...ID=4356054
(Look at the tennis team picture in the cornfield)
He didn't read people well (to put it nicely), and people would seriously convince him to do things just so they could make fun of him. I could see people convincing him he can sing and to try out for AI, and then he'd be on there saying "People tell me I can sing." Poor guys.
