Tough, because I love them all.

Agree we should do a chart at the end. Do that points system where 1 rating gets 11 points, running down. See what totals highest!

Looking In
Close My EYes
Outside
The Wind
Petals
Twister
Sunflowers
Fly Like A Bird
I Wish You Well
Languishing
Camoflage

I only didn't put it last as to not get dragged. In my 18 years of being a hardcore stan I think I've only even listened to it like 20-30 times, for me the Emotions album ends at TTEOT.

I guess I should add Close My Eyes to my list.

Camouflage is boring af, has no melody, grating lead vocals and the backgrounds and adlibs are all over the place and make no sense. Not sorry about it

I always skip Camouflage as well. I guess it ties well with The Art Of Letting Go, both are all over the place and I don't know what she was trying to do, but it didn't work

Agreed. Cry and TAOLG suck too. I love MIAM, but the ballads on that album are not where it's at.

I disagree about Cry. I think it is one of her best and I love its place as the album opener.

Camouflage is bland but it is essencial on the album to tell the story she wanted to tell. Without it I think the whole meaning would be a bit lost.

Yes I like cry a lot too. You see, I judge each song individually on how I like it, based on the melody, the vocals, the lyrics, the whole thing. Im not a mindless drone that categorizes songs as... AC GOOD! RAP BAD! which apparently some people think I do.

For example I happen to find Migrate to be a terrible song whereas I quite enjoy Money. And wow they both have rappers on them! What a concept!

Similarly I think When I Saw You is quite bland and boring meanwhile Forever is one of my favorites. And WOW they're both on the same album produced by the same person! This is really some new groundbreaking way of analyzing music I guess.

Camouflage has a beautiful melody, arrangements and lyrics. It's the vocal that not on top notch, it's kinda overproduced.

I hear people screaming about people screaming about Mariah doing AC ballads far more than I hear people screaming about her doing AC ballads these days...

I love both Cry and Camouflage-- my only issue with them is that they sound a bit too similar. IMO Camouflage could have been a bit shorter and more of an interlude, but it's still great. I agree that the uptempos outshine the ballads on MIAM for sure though.
