This is one of the acting gigs she got as a result of being with James. It was produced by Ratpac. It might also be a reason why she's cut now too. She probably was a nightmare on set but who knows why. Maybe things were on the rocks with James in August last year and she was showing up to this completely disinterested.
She probably did it on purpose. Mariah is definitely petty

Yeah if this is something that she was involved with James in then I can absolutely see her being pretty unbothered by it all.

I don't know if this movie sucks or what happened exactly, we do not know the details, but Mariah is a professional and she should act as one. After all those years in this business, she has a "good name" to defend and exhibiting unprofessional behaviour of any kind is definitely not to her credit.

^ Absolutely. And I actually don't discount the fact she probably was being difficult, especially from the earlier report we got about her not wanting to sing the song she was asked to do for the movie. That's typical of how stubborn Mariah has become in recent years.

But it's also the case that these actors are now using her name to get promo for their flop movie even though she's not even in it. So the other side isn't innocent in this either.

I think the fault in this is more what happened running up to it. I can see why Mariah would not be here for being killed in the movie, even if her alternative suggestions were ridiculous.

But this should have all been hashed out waaaay before Mariah was even confirmed in the movie. Why hadn't she, or her manager *cough* not vetted the script prior to her showing up on set?

It's simply not a good look, and respected comedy actors that we know she loves now think poorly of her. That's a small circle so I doubt they'll be welcoming her into it again.

In the end the people managing also should take accountability. I see Stella as an enabler, but yes, Mariah is not a child and should be the ultimate person accountable.

there's more to the story lol

https://unicornbooty.com/mariah-carey-the-house/

One day after Will Ferrell appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers and dished about Mariah Carey’s behavior on the set of his new movie The House, more tea is being spilled.

Co-star Cedric Yarbrough posted on Facebook Wednesday evening that Carey “ruined” her cameo and because of her unprofessional behavior, it had to be cut from the film.

Cedric Yarbrough writes about Mariah Carey on The House:

Hey team! This is a long one so bare with me. Okay since Will Ferrell is talking, I’ma talk-ing. Yeah, a real funny cameo was SUPPOSED to happen in the new film #TheHouse with the superstar Mariah Carey. But it was ruined by superstar Mariah Carey.

The film takes place in a suburban home but is made into a ‘Casino’. Why not have Mariah be an act in the casino? Funny idea. It’s rumored that she eventually showed up to set. This is true. But after waiting for her for 3-4 hours!

While we waited the director & team had the idea of doing a stunt that Mariah’s body double would do now & bring in Mariah to match it. They do the stunt. All goes well. When Mariah finally showed up she refused to match the stunt. “Darling, I would never do it that way…”. I heard her say those exact words. She then requested a large fan for her hair to be blown around and a camera that would be above her, basically a crane shot.

This lady was unprofessional & borderline abusive to our director, who tried his best to appease her every wish. In the acting community, it’s not very good form to ‘tell’ on your fellow actors. They could be having a bad day, going through some personal things, & maybe Mariah was, I don’t know. But I do know that our crew didn’t deserve that, our director didn’t. Hell, I’d just come off shooting 10 HOURS on ‘Speechless’ just to get there and wait. This kind of behavior just isn’t cool.

I’m not even going to tell you the worst part. (i will if i see you in person & if i deem you ‘cool’). For you young actors, be on time, know your homework, but be courteous and respectful. For us old heads, the same. This kind of behavior should be called out for what it is.

I miss “I had a vision of love” Mariah. Be a damn professional.

Ouch! That is harsh.

If you don’t care what the critics have to say about Mimi, then head here where you can buy her merch for Pride Month.

Cedric Yarbrough basically admitted he's an assh0le by telling on a colleague. Who's not even a colleague, but a singer* and a legend.

Essentially he TRIED it to capacity. He can go back to the cabinet he came from with his Herman Muster shoes.

Wow, that guy is beyond THIRSTY. Even if what he says is true he's clearly just looking for his fifteen seconds of fame with this. #classless

Tbh what they deem to be unprofessional, I just deem that to be Mariah!! Lol Sure she should have listened to the director but Mariah knows what Mariah wants and she's not going to be told what to do by anyone anymore. She's her own woman now when it comes to absolutely every aspect of her life. Some people may find that rude and unprofessional. Some will say she shouldn't bother getting involved in these projects if she's not going to listen to the director. All of that is fair. But she wants to do her own thing. I applaud that even if it's frustrating for everyone else. It seems these actors are looking to use her to get promo for their movie. I consider what they are doing as unprofessional. If the movie is good, talk about that.

He's the star of a hit show and was recurring on TBT, the #1 show on TV for many years, I don't think he needs any more 'fame'. Mariah was obviously being unprofessional and I don't understand why all you guys are acting like it's beyond the realm of possibility and are attacking all the others involved.

The talk at my office is that she's a dramatic diva (no one seems to care at all about her music at this point....mostly because only true fans have heard any of it for the last 4+ years). And this stuff only adds fuel to the fire.

OMG I saw the trailer for this movie a few weeks ago in the theater and it looked horrendous and not funny at all. Very cringe. I'm glad Mariah is not a part of this.

That said, let's call a spade a spade. Sure Mariah is known for being a diva and all but being 3-4 hours late to the set is terrible, and not out of character. Being unprofessional does nothing for her.

If I had plans with friends and they showed up 3 hours late, I would be pissed. Like "lets reevaluate our friendship" pissed. And don't act like most people here wouldn't think the same way.

This will be forgotten quickly of course but I'm not going to lie, I don't love reading these stories.

This will be forgotten by the general public, but Hollywood doesn't forget and if Mariah is trying to build a brand, aside from being a 90's era diva... She needs to be a professional. Point. Blank. Period. This generation could give two shits about what she accomplished two decades ago - it's sad, but true. She doesn't get a pass just because she's a legend. Get your %#%# together, Mariah. This is becoming the norm and sadly the joke is on you for tarnishing your legacy.

I agree that "she's Mariah Carey" isn't an excuse for everything. But that "Oh and I'm not even going to tell you the worst part" bit was so shady. Either say it or shut up. Rather than hint that it was like the worst thing imaginable.

Agreed. A lot of the defense and deflection being said here is prob exactly what people like Stella tell her so she never learns nor cares. And it's not like the 90s anymore, everyone says everything on their mind to the media and everything goes viral, on top of Mariah not being on top of her game. There are no rules, but the golden rule still stands and will still reflect good on you. She doesn't have that much leverage anymore. The only person who lost here is Mariah.

^ I do agree with everything you're saying. She should be professional at all times and it is only courtesy and professional to be on time to things, to iron out whatever issues she had with the project before they showed up to filming.

But what exactly has Mariah lost in this whole thing? Is it tarnishing her music legacy? No way. Fact of the matter is, the diva behaviour and demands have followed Mariah for 20 years. Right now, this story blowing up isn't great because everything else about her in the media isn't exactly positive. But when she was top of the music world, the outrageous diva stories flooded the media even more than now.

If this story is going to damage Mariah in the acting community, then who really cares. Acting for Mariah was always about proving a point after Glitter. She arguably proved that point with Precious. Since then, she had that silent role in The Butler, she had a cameo in that Popstar movie, she basically played herself in Empire, she was in her woeful Hallmark movie and she's had a few voiceover parts, something she's actually good at.

If the result of this fiasco is that she never gets another acting gig again then it's a good thing.
