"Sorry" is up to #26 this week.

The video going to YouTube obviously helped its streams, but it seems like airplay and downloads have peaked.

Independence Day affected a lot of songs at Urban radio. I don't think it has peaked at radio yet.

^I'm impressed, really. The minute she decides to cater to a larger audience, with a mainstream smash single/album, she will destroy everything. Hope she does it before she turns 40, I think there's still room for another Halo, Crazy in Love, Single Ladies kind of successful song. But then again one of her best pop singles flopped/underperformed recently (XO) #feelingpuzzled. Anyway, I'm rooting for her. Can't believe I've been following her since she released No, No, No (the remix).

MTV will honor the visual album Lemonade and Beyoncé will be performing at the VMAs.

MTV has told her she can have as much time she wants on stage for her performance. I can't wait to see how she'll top the iconic 16 minutes medley she did for BEYONCE.

So watching Beyoncé be on top of the world at the VMAs made me want to revisit this question which manu of us has asked here before. Why do you think Beyoncé has been able to consistently maintain her massive young mainstream appeal while Mariah hasn't? If you think about it, Beyoncé started in 97 (just 7 years after Mariah). For me it has to do with Mariah's unidimensionality. She has always been all about the voice, and lacked in a lot of other aspects (i.e. dancing and overall performance). There's also her reluctance to leave her music niche (R&B) and even in that genre, I can't imagine her doing edgy more current urban stuff like Rihanna or Beyoncé. What do you all think?

I don’t want no cake on my birthday, errday errrday.

Beyonce has got that cool factor (like it's actually cool to like her). Her music isn't presented like it's bubblegum pop. She's also taken the role of a prominent spokesperson for feminism and Black Lives Matter, which are quite important for today's society and young people.
Plus she performs exceptionally well so it's really hard for people to make fun of her.

I've been reading in the press how Beyoncé put everyone into shame, including Britney herself. I want to see that grrrr... Cannot believe MTV doesn't have official video clips in this day and age, pffff

MTV posted videos of the performances. Don't know if they did it on their site or on social media.

Apples and oranges. Beyoncé didn't become super famous as 'Beyonce the superstar' until 2003, she only now released her sixth album. Mariah's 8th album Rainbow sold more than most of B's albums. B will have her time when she becomes uncool too, it happens with every artist. No one is at the top forever.

They just give them to whoever shows up these days. It's not competitive like when Madonna was at the top.

So, obviously Beyonce's performance skills are amazing-- but, I dunno- I was little bored during her performance, and I think it's because of the music. I miss pop Beyonce.
