BOOO!! (ok we kind of knew that, but still tongue.gif)
But didn't someone asked Big Jim Wright via his twitter account a few weeks ago if he and Mariah wrote new songs together recently and he replied "Yes"?
And also Bryan Michael Cox said in an interview with YouKnowIGotSoul (May 2015) that he's working with Mariah again.

Mariah's not one to hide when she works on an album.  Anyone remember that video montage of her working on MIAM, including all the pushbacks? smiley: laugh

I dont think she's working on a new album, per se, but she definitely has new songs - at least written. She has mentioned she was writing songs during "The Elusive Chanteuse Show" tour. She also has leftovers from her time with Eric Hudson and the other writers. She was also in the studio with JD/BMC before we learned about Infinity.

I don't think she bothers to actually record that many songs these days though. The last time that happened was probably TEOM, which made sense cos she (and the label) was hungry for that big comeback. But since then it seems that she will abandon songs she doesn't like before the recording stage (which makes sense cos she doesn't have as much time now being a mom and everything).

Even then I don't think she records a lot of songs typically. She said on a visit to TRL that she over recorded for TEOM and that she had done 19 songs. 14 of them are on the standard issue record and then we also know 'When I Feel It' is also one of them. So not a lot of throw away. I think. She does abandon songs if she isn't feeling them. I can't remember who it was but either Gaga or Beyonce said they recorded something like 50 tracks for an album. That just sounds crazy high to me.

Yeah no way, not 50 whole, completed tracks. I doubt that very much. Their labels aren't going to let them tie up all of those resources and studio time, allowing them to flesh out that many songs when they know they are only going to be selling and promoting 20 of them tops.

Not sure how it all works but what if you're less involved in the songwriting process and songwriters wrote you a song? The songwriter for Sweet Dreams recently said Beyonce came in and recorded the song in 15 minutes. Not saying it's standard because Beyonce was apparently in a rush but does that make a difference? Mariah writes and coproduces all her own songs and probably also needs more time to record her vocals nowadays.

Let's not forget that Mariah is a MEGA perfectionist when it comes to whole song writing/producing/recording process.

Mariah is an actual writer and producer, not a phony one, so naturally she's more invested in the songs and the process takes longer.

It's easy for these singers who just come in, sing the song and leave to record loads of tracks that are given to them and then choose which they are going to use.

Beyonce saying she records that many songs for an album just confirms what we already know about her 'writing'.

That's definitely the reason Mariah won't have a huge collection of unreleased tracks sitting in a vault somewhere.

Re: Gay Vegas Magazine interview

Yes, look at Whitney who had a reputation for being a workhouse and blowing through her studio time quickly. Supposedly she has fifty unreleased songs that she recorded over three years in between albums -- I don't imagine there are many solo artists getting through that many in one campaign.
