Yup she just needs to bring back that Emotions, Dreamlover, Hearbreaker uptempo Lead Single and mabye dress down a bit more like she did in the Rainbow and Day Dream Eras. She just looks so naturally beautiful that way and I feel appeals to alot more people.

You want her to dress like the Rainbow era?! At 44? Are you sure? smiley: eek

Haha. I just took it to mean that he thought she should scale back of the glamour and opt for a more casual, less ostentatious look.

I actually think glamour is fine. Mariah literally sh!ts glamour and I think that is needed for a star of her quality. She should (and does) drip it. I don't think anything about the Rainbow era would well now for her fashion wise. The outfits were very, very short! As others have said, TEOM kind of look was perfect. It defied any kind of limitations of age or sexuality.

Yeah, it is a good look for her overall. I do get a little bored with it though and find it refreshing when she dials it back a bit. She could do it more often, but yeah -- no cutoff waistband jeans.

I like the glam look... She just needs better styling most of the time. But Something casual chic once in awhile would be nice.... She always looks very natural and clean when she dresses down too. I will give her kudos And applaud her because she always sticks to her guns and wears whatever she wants regardless of the thousands of comments that are said about her clothes... I mean it's been going on since the butterfly era...

Looks wise I don't really care except I think she needs to lose the cowardly lion/straight flat hair. It doesn't suit her when she's a bit bigger. I LOVED her look (pic on the right) here. She suits the parting like that.

Plus, and I know we've said this time and time again, but it doesn't hurt repeating - her videos are horrible! Which was her last halfway decent video? For me it was "When Christmas Comes" but that was just a holiday single (and not a real single anyway). Before that, I can only think of "Up Out My Face" which was pretty good. I'd have to go back to "Touch My Body" which was genuinely one of her BEST ever.

Videos more often than not make or break a song and these days can even turn it into a hit with streaming and all. That could work in Mariah's advantage if radio is reluctant to her. The videos don't even have to be expensive so long as they have humor, or a semblance of concept/storyline. It sucks because her videos as of late, in addition to tanking the songs, bring extra bad publicity (what with her retouching, vanity shots etc.)
I agree about the videos and all visual aspects of her work (for someone so interested in her looks, it's a wonder why she neglects this part so heavily) but the last good video she did was "Triumphant"- she looked incredibly good , just jaw dropping and it had a cinematographic feel to it.

I'm not saying drop the glamor I'm just saying it's nice when you see her looking down to earth once in a while. I loved her look on The Friday Night project in 2008 or alot of the Rainbow Era with cloths that whyere in style at the time but not overly glamorus. So I'm saying it be cool if she dress more in style like she did during the Era's before MOAIA. It seems since then she dresses strangely and rarely get's it right.

Her Idol looks were all gorgeous and age appropriate.

Generally she dresses better when she's in shape then she carries herself with more self confidence as well.
