Madonna Announces Avicii Collaboration, Pair Hit The Studio Together

Madonna is making music with EDM star Avicii, she told the world via Instagram on Friday night (March 7). "On my way to the studio to work with Avicii!," was part of the Queen of Pop's caption for her Instagram photo of herself in black fishnets posted late yesterday.

Avicii, who saw his track "Wake Me Up" reach No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 last year, had simply tweeted "Studiomode!" several hours earlier.

There's been no word on what exactly the pair worked on last night, or whether the sessions were intended for a future Avicii release or Madonna's next album. In February, she confirmed to The Canadian Press that she was working on the follow up to 2012's "MDNA," saying "Plans are in the works already. Don't ask me with who, it's a secret. Top secret."

Madonna's affinity for Avicii is well known. She famously popped up as a surprise guest during the Swedish DJ's set at the Ultra Music Festival in 2012.

Their collabo was a given. His folky/EDM sound is like a replica of the Music album for her. Something like 'Wake Me Up' is right up her alley and something she'd like.

And after Martin Solveig she needed someone else to hop on to. Surprised she hasn't reached out to Disclosure since they're big in the UK.

Thirsty ass grandmother. Someone needs to give her her fluids. She's in need of an IV.

This could potentially see her bring something interesting to music again. She hasn't done that since COAD, where she set a trend before it became mainstream (compared to her thing now which is chase it and look desperate). Avivii has got a really dynamic sound which could really make her someone to take notice of. I'm quite interested to see what she comes out with this time around.

She's launching a skincare line

The singer will unleash MDNA Skin in the country on February 13 at a special pop-up shop before it goes on sale in some department stores on February 26.

It has been made in conjunction with MTG and the initial launch will take place at the Ba-Tsu Art Gallery in Omotesando, Tokyo.

The range features a clay mask, skin rejuvenator and a serum. Its blurb reads:
"The clay oil therapy inspired CHROME CLAY MASK, made with a base of clay from Montecatini Terme in Italy, which performs multiple functions that enrich the skin. The SKIN REJUVINATOR - the specialised Magnetic Force and Deep Derma induction system devised to remove impurities and revitalizes the skin.

"THE SERUM - based on an original formula that was created exclusively for Madonna, it creates a glowing effect when used alone and is further enhanced when used with the CHROME CLAY MASK and SKIN REJUVENATOR. Using these products routinely as part of daily skin care regime creates firm, resilient and radiant skin overflowing with energy after every use."

Does anyone really care about Madge's new music though? Her albums are just excuses to tour, which mostly consist of her shoving her crotch in our faces while singing Like A Virgin for the 10 billionth time.

Not when they are shite, no. See Hard Candy and MDNA. She is still an icon. If she can produce music worthy of that then its on.

Well that means the last time you checked for her is 2005 with COADF, which is nearly 10 years ago. So get ready for crotchless panties and shite music. smiley: laugh

She must have new music coming out - The Cryptkeeper is pulling out all the stops for attention. Armpit hair is this era's tact this time. smiley: indifferent

Is it just me or does it actually look like a bad photoshop job? smiley: laugh

I don't know what's worse, posting your hairy pits for all to see, or photoshopping hair on your pits just for attention.

And that's your latest from Tales from the Crypt.

Whenever we feel need to complain about anything Mariah does, we should always remember IT COULD BE MUCH WORSE.   smiley: laugh

Madge should get back together with Patrick Leonard. Musically, he's her other half. I'm listening to the Like A Prayer album right now - it's its 25th anniversary today - and actually enjoying a lot of it.
I'm not sure she could deliver great music with the likes of Avicii; classic is the way to go at this point for her, IMO. And she still has a classic, genuinely good record left in her I think.

2005 was the last time she also put any effort into her music which is why people checked for her. The sound, visuals, videos and campaign for COAD were amazing. Since then, she's been lazy, rolling out music on autopilot with whoever she thinks is in and throwing albums away after a week for easy tour money. If she gets her work ethic back and works with someone genuinely good (and I think Avicii could fit that bill) there is nothing stopping her from rolling out another solid era.

In fact, with Avicii driving her, a solid European hit album is quite attainable. IF she will do her part.

Hard Candy grew on me. MDNA is awful but there are still 3 or 4 gems on the album. I'm looking forward to the new album. I was waiting on a proper rock album but whatever. I wish they re-released Like A Prayer with new material but I guess Warner/Madonna doesn't care for the album. lol
