She would do both, of course. I'd open with VOL (if not only for the ominous sound at the beginning ) and end with "Hero" with a little uptempo, Make It Happen, Heartbreaker Love Hangover, and Always Be My Baby slayage in the middle. I had a whole list in my thread last year

The only thing is Mariah sucks at medleys... I'd rather she do large chunks than anything too creative

She'd have 13 minutes, so...

3 minutes VOL
2 minutes Make It Happen
2 minutes Heartbreaker (Love Hangover remix) - Bring out Diana? C'mon for THAT slay.
3 minutes Always Be My Baby
3 minutes Hero

Acapella Intro into "Vision of Love" (First verse/chorus into bridge/chorus)
"Make It Happen" with a massive famous gospel choir (First verse/chorus into bridge/chorus)
Fantasy/Honey/Heartbreaker (mash-up); I believe they're all in the same key, but I may be wrong.
"We Belong Together" (Club Mix) with special guest
"Always Be My Baby" with audience assisting

I don't know that I'd want her to do it at this point considering all of her troubles with live singing lately, but if she had her stage presence and voice together...

1. "Fantasy" (ODB intro via video because it shouts out everyone and builds hype; album version of "Fantasy" after that)
2. "Always Be My Baby"/"We Belong Together" mash-up (crowd sing along)
3. "Make It Happen" (band intro a la Divas Live to provide time for costume change; maybe a famous drummer as guest)
4. "Vision of Love"

I think if a guest is necessary one could easily fit in on "Make It Happen." It could even possibly be combined with another song.

Yes Mariah should have Aretha launched on the stage the way Beyonce did with Kelly & Michellesmiley: laugh

I can see people wanting her to leave out "MIH" because she's done it so much and because it isn't one of her bigger hits, but why leave "ABMB" out? Not only is it one of her most enduring singles (top 5, if not top 3) but the "do do do" part lends itself so well to a big crowd sing-along.

If Mariah is to have another big hit in her career, I hope it's some sort of uptempo that is a celebration of music and or unity. She doesn't really have a song like that for these events other than "MIH." Madonna can always pull out "Holiday" or "Music," for instance.

As a general statement, I'm surprised Mariah has never written a song about the effect of music on her or people in general. Stevie Wonder has "Sir Duke," Madonna has "Music," Coldplay has "Every Teardop Is A Waterfall," etc. Considering how much music has meant to Mariah's life, I'm surprised she's never written a song about its impact.

ok here's what's in my head

- Vision of Love: 1st verse (Treated me kind...) - 1st chorus (I had a vision of love...) - bridge (I've realized a dream...) - last chorus (with the high/whistle notes)
- Heartbreaker - Dreamlover - Fantasy
- We Belong Together: Jump into the last chorus right after the 1st.
- Make It Happen: Choir coming in.
- Hero: With choir. And then everyone crying and smiling and clapping and whatever.

All prerecorded is fine as long as she practices to lip to it and rehearses multiple times (like pull the mic away a bit seriously)
Lot of dancers and fireworks - she doesn't need to move around/dance, she'll do with the stairmaster moves and the legendary hand movements.

Ah but we probabaly need ABMB in there somewhere. Oh well.

I think it would be out of the question for halftime, unless she comes as a guest of some other artist (which I don't see that happening) to sing a chorus of something.

Her national anthem had the perfect context: Triumph over bad press, proud New Yorker after 9/11, and she sounded amazing. If she ever appears at the Super Bowl again, it'll be to sing America the Beautiful.

1st: Honey remix - coming down to the stage from a flying helicopter
2nd: Fantasy remix mashed up with Heartbreaker
3rd: We Belong Together
4th: Montage video of successful people who have dark backgrounds/faced hard challenges in life (at the end of the vid, it will show Mariah speaking about her childhood struggles etc. etc)
5th: Vision of Love

Seriously though the closest shes gotten energy wise on par for a super bowl performance level was the homecoming special. She had a lot of energy. She hid her lack of dance skills, with some cute movies and confidence the hip switches and the knee drop were everythingsmiley: roll
