So I'm watching Bruno Mars performing at the Super Bowl Half time and it got me wondering 'what would I like Mariah to do', so let's share our thoughts:

I would love her to start with something iconic, like Mariah in her Honey outfit performing the remix with Puffy, Mase and The Lox,

unfortunately she can not perform with ODB or Luther, but how about a Fantasy remix with Tom Tom Club (if they're alive :-) )

or Thank God I Found You w/ Joe and Nas

Also I think it would be great if she started with the honey outfit and gradually put more clothes on and then ended with WBT in this gorgeous long gown singing her heart out

anyone else with some nice ideas?

I think she should do Heartbreaker with Jay-Z to start off with then when the the remix comes on instead of bringing out Da Brat Jay introduces his wife Beyonce and she stays on stage to sing a shortened version of Fantasy with them trading verses and that leads into her doing a bit of Dreamlover, that leads into her doing a shortened Hero and she closes with VOL.

...you would include Beyoncé in Mariah's Superbowl halftime?

Yeah, hun, you clearly need to go to bed

We discussed this last year, but she'd need the perfect setlist and confidence.

Here's last years thread:

Idk I don't see Mariah doing that for some reason. It never even crossed my mind.

I'm prepping myself to get ripped a new one for this, but she's too boring of a performer for the Super Bowl.

I think it would garner a lot of attention and it would only be for half of one song, but yes I have been up since yesterday at 8am and I took my medicine last night, but it didnt work right, but at this point I might as well stay up until my regular bedtime. What other attention-grabbing female star would you suggest to do half a song or a song with MC for The half-time show? Any of the legendary divas aren't going to spur any real buzz, these pop gurls would, but even the ones I love aren't really worthy. Kelly Clarkson? Pink? That's about all we're left with besides Beyonce or Madonna and we all know that aint happening.

I actually use this idea!

Don't pay attention to Vinny He actually wanted Bey and Jay to perform 'Heartbreaker' for Mariah's BET tribute but now he's acting all squeamish about it

^That would've made sense. I can't see any logical sense in Mariah ceding the stage to another iconic female who has already performed the Superbowl and would, in all honestly, out-perform her.

I'd be fine with Jay-Z, though.

Gerl bye, it'd be 1:30 minutes! And you'd get your whole life too.

You need stage presence (confidence) for this sort of thing though. Something Mariah has difficulty with.

ya we all love mariah but this is something i would not be supportive of. she'd prolly get so much hate and bad press for it, even if her voice was in good condition. its not the right venue for her

What if: Mariah @ Super Bowl

I never understood why Mariah never played at the SuperBowl even at her prime when she was the american sweetheart and delivered great live performances. It doesnt look like happening anymore. It's clear that she has confidence issues nowadays performing on live shows. She should work on that to perform @ The Superbowl. She obviously can deliver. I was in Barretos in 2010, in Australia she was great and in that random Jimmy Fallon freestyle.

This is exactly what I was going to say... Lol

Mariah doesnt duet with another female even in the studio... Let alone in live performances with females at her prime. She has her pride lol

Does anyone perform ballads at these things? I can't imagine the audience sitting through WBT or VOL.. I think she'd need to to do all up tempos.

Yeah. And as we all know, Mariah's performances of her up-tempos are not her best, since she never was this dance performer with super-stage special effects. Although the "Heartbreaker" performances @ Divas 2000 is one of her bests ever, IMO. I miss when she used to own the stage like that.

Beyoncé did "Halo," and it was the song that benefitted most from her performance in sales the following week. It just needs to be done well. If Mariah ate a "Vision of Love" performance like Blueprint 2005, people would get their lives.

They would. Bruno did The Way You Are and it sent it briefly back into the top 10 on iTunes, Hell, an abridged Hero would slay souls if she served it MSG-style.

'Vision of Love' needs the exposure more.
