1. Bad (nine singles including Dirty Diana and Liberian Girl plus the great non-single Just Good Friends)

2. Dangerous (although I don't like all the songs it has some of his best songs ever like Will You Be There)

3. Thriller

Never liked Off The Wall much.

Dangerous is solid, but seems more of its time than timeless. But, yeah, there are some great jams on that one. It's just that nothing on it can measure up to "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough," "Billie Jean," or "PYT." Plus, "Heal The World" is

You struck "Don't Stop..." smiley: eek smiley: eek I think that's the best song of his career Those strings!! That middle 8 with the blaring horns!! That exceptional fadeout/outro!! Michael's joyous vocal!! And you struck my beloved "PYT" too That is seriously the best middle 8 in pop music history, no?!?!

But yeah, to each his (or her) own.

The genius of Off The Wall for me is how non-stop it is; apart from "She's Out Of My Life," which I leave off my iPod, the album is pure energy. And the production is flawless; from the beats, to strings, to guitar, to horns, it's just so layered and magnificent. And Michael sounds like he loved making the album. He lost that joy as time went on, but on Off The Wall he sounds good technically, but is also just infectious.

^^ Perfect synopsis.  I think a lot of people (not necessarily anybody in here though) slight it because it's so disco-y.

Rock With You might be my jam of all jams too. That song is like pure sex for the ears.

Yeah, Bad isn't that great. I think I only love The Way You Make Me Feel, Man in the Mirror and (especially) Liberian Girl.

My favorite Thriller song is Human Nature.

I would agree that Off the Wall is his best album, with what's probably his best song, Rock with You.

Dangerous is underrated, it has some of his best songs imo like In the Closet, Remember the Time, Jam, Will You Be There, Give In to Me, Who Is It, and the stunning Gone Too Soon (cried to that one after he died ). Much better overall than Bad imo.

Does anyone love Stranger in Moscow? I think it's a stunning ballad and the best song by far on a pretty bleak album.

"Bad" is one of my favorite albums of ALL TIME! Every song is single material. It's like its own greatest hits album. Plus, the "Moonwalker" movie came out during the same era. Such an epic time!!

YES at both Dangerous (love the tracks you listed) and SIM (such a powerful melody to that one!).

This aired last night. Nobody watched it? Anyways, Mariah was shown briefly saying something during the making of the Bad video. She was literally on the screen for five seconds. And then just her sitting there during the credits. That was it. I did miss the first 15 minutes of it, so if she was shown then, I don't know.

I agree with some reviews of this documentary that the celebrity parts (Mariah, Chris Brown, Kanye etc) were the worst. They brought nothing. Kayne really annoyed me on the Annie Are You Okay part. That went on too long.

Seeing all the influences and behind the scenes stuff was just amazing, especially for Smooth Criminal.

Mariah was shown talking twice that I saw, neither for more than a few seconds. But they weren't the same parts I had seen before, so she's probably in it a handful of times overall. The celebrity parts were extraneous, but they weren't involved in the process of making the album so that makes sense. I think they are meant to show his influence/reach.

The one that aired in Germany and overseas is the theatrical release, over two hours long. For the US version, they edited out a bit, including Stevie Wonder recording a song with Michael and Justin Bieber. We got the 64 minute edit. The DVD is coming out in February.

Why did Spike do a film on this album and not Thriller or Off The Wall?

Bad >>> Off The Wall, and Thriller already gets enough shine. Bad also came at the most interesting part of his life imo.

PREACH!

Yes! Such a diverse piece of work and nearly every song could be a single. This is the same reason why I love Mariah's debut.

They showed MC on BBC. It seems I Just Can't Stop Loving You was supposed to be a duet with Whitney, but Clive Davis wouldn't have it as he was afraid of 'overexposure' it seems. MC said something like she would like to speak to Clive about it...
