That's cool!! I love her attitude. But can you answer me ONE question, please!?: Does she listen to Triumphant and think "woooww, the song is soo good produced! My voice is sooo good technically changed!! and the "ahhhhsss" in the chorus sound soo natural!"

If yes, than she is lostsmiley: ohwell

You know, it is NOT about her thinking "so f@ck... I do what I want... and I dont give a damn about success!"
-> Actually, I love that about her. But the quality she is delivering lately is just "o.K."

It's weird that she thinks fans want the one thing they actually do NOT want from her which is something in the vein of WBT (which I personally wasn't a huge fan to begin with). And it never ever turns out as good as the (original) song/album she's comparing it with. Ever. So I just don't like it when she says/does things like that.

The ONE positive thing about T. being a flop is that maybe it will stop JD's ego from blowing up. lol.

I'm really starting to believe that Mariah categorizes the fans that "complain" about her getting predictable sonically (which is the realistic fans, let's be real here) as haters.
I think she feels the people that love every single thing she does are her true fans.

How would she not think that?! Have you seen the responses on Twitter when she talks about Triumphant or the performance?
It goes like this:
- Mariah i love Triumphant, best song ever, song of the summer, please release more songs like this...
-That performance of Triumphant saved my life, best performance ever, you're the Queen of everything...
Of course there are the negative ones but i'm sure she blocks themsmiley: laugh

Personally i still love Triumphant but hope there's no WBT rehash or another rap heavy song on the next album. Either way i would rather say nothing than to criticize  her or say something negative everytime i don't agree with somethings she does or releases because it's not my place but talking like it's best thing ever won't do her any good. Btw, JD's twitter is also full of those "Triumphant is the best song you have ever produced" messages, the same goes for every "WBT like" song he produces.
I wish she (her team) would listen to every demographic and types of fans to make a fair conclusion of what direction the fans/the public "wish" she would takesmiley: smile
Of course at the end of the day it's still her decision and i respect that.

I don't care about the amount of rap on the song, the rap parts are the best parts on it LOL. I just want her voice to SHINE and not not be buried under a pile of useless layers.
Mariah is awesome at layering vocals and background vocals, but she got it wrong on this song, the only thing she needed to do was lower the song a key and she could have just belted it out full voice without having to hide the cracks.

Her voice during the bridge and the final adlibs is great.

But the chorus is just too layered. She just needs to sing out clearly and in a straightforward way for her single releases especially.

The songs melody is amazing. The lyrics are good. So there is enough in the song to prove she is inspired and I think the album will have some great tracks.

I would just like the production of her vocals to improve because I think that is the main problem on the song. She just sounds too far away.

I think Mariah gets it more than people think she does. But I agree with whoever said Mariah is stubborn, and sometimes needs someone powerful enough to force her to change. I'm sure like most of us Mariah is a creature of habit.

Add that with how "mad" she is about dance/pop music dominating radio and her trying desperately to "save" and stay true to R&B, even if it means taking a backseat on her own song or not crossing over, which unfortunately nowadays means not a big "Billboard" hit.
Like Liron said, her response to IDJ about Triumphant not being a potential hit was: -So What?!
I'm happy with the song though, big hit or not, i don't really pay attention to charts anymoresmiley: smile

It would be nice if she would write vocals that are more within her range and are more comfortable for her to sing live without thinking she needs to belt super high all the time. I believe high belting is what she or thinks fans (I bet a lot of them do) consider as good vocals. But it doesn't always sound as good anymore (live or on record) as back in the day when it was effortless for her. What I always loved more was how she played/plays with her voice. Doing the little tricky melodies only she could hear and do (that I missed on E and Memoirs). You don't need to do super hard high vocals to have impressive vocals or most importantly to have a good song. A lot of my favorite songs from other female artists don't have all that belting.

There is a difference between not liking a performance, song and saying you dont like it, than how this forum was after she performed Triumphant and its a big joke that the single is not doing well to alot of people on this board, or they think its funny thats its failing so "Mariah learns her lesson Like WTF! . It was pure hate and this forum could have been named the butterfly room. Thats how bad the comments were from people. Yeah cool people dont like the song and performance, but the conversations that people were having the other day, was all hate and stupid comments. It reminded me and some others why we left the butterfly room.I believe face to face value people would respect Mariah more, rather than behind a screen. The comments were disgusting and so rude.

I hope that Jasp is just wrong on this one. It would be very worrying if he was right. I will admit, I have seriously never got this "goat" thing and there is a part of it I have always found...........worrying. I blame bloody Twitter in a way. You can sometimes be blinkered by positivity or soured by negatives when you are a celebrity on it.
