In all seriousness I really do hope so.

Mariah keeps tweeting these announcements of her song going #1 on random (non-existent) charts lol. I honestly want to know what Mariah is thinking when it comes to this song's performance. Maybe the label will try to hold off JD the way LA Reid did during Memoirs.

Mariah, unlike you, had no expectations for the song's chart success. So the fact that it went #1 on the UK Urban charts made her very happy. Good for her! Sorry it makes you so upset though Richard.

^I agree, but with the exception of 'Love Story', those songs were pretty different from the 'WBT' clone formula. When I hear stuff that's "in that vein" I think of 'Angels Cry'. 'FTR' is a great song, I really didn't expect to love it so much when I heard the perfume ad was taken from it, but it's one of my favourites from that album.
Yes, "FTR" is great and not at all a "WBT" clone. The perfume ads were misleading, but I love it because there are actually changes in the music/sound within the song. The layers in the production are great, too.

Oh come on now! I'm just making a joke. I just don't know what Urban chart she's talking about, because the supposed "urban chart" doesn't even have Mariah's single on there.

Receipts: http://www.mtv.co.uk/musi.../official-uk-urban-chart

Mariah's flopping upsets other people more than me. I knew what we were in for from the day it came out. I'm more or less hoping that there is some progression in future singles.

Oh sorry jasp, I didn't realize you can read Mariah's mind. Every artist WANTS success. Every artist WISHES that the song they worked on and put their heart into can go to #1 and become the greatest sensation since "Macarena". But I was there IN THE ROOM when TWO very high-up IDJ executives told Mariah "Just so you know, this will NOT be your 19th #1 and it will NOT cross over" and she replied with "SO WHAT. You think I don't know that?" So don't give me your ridiculous replies. Thank you.

Actually, I was also wondering what chart it is smiley: roll
But I'm sure they didn't make it up, and I'm happy for her that the song went #1 on an urban chart somewhere, wherever it may be. Honestly as far as I'm concerned all UK charts are irrelevant

I'm sure it was some radio show that she went #1 and someone told her and she went with it, lol.

Any other deets on the album?

Basically, all I want to know is this: will it rehash her past, or is it in any way progressive? And when can we expect a new single?

Did they expect the song to be a bigger  success on the US urban chart/ urban radio ?

It's not about the content of what you post, sure, I believe you, it's the way you always go on a warpath when you sense that people aren't stanning it up for Mariah. I told you this before, and it annoys me..you are rude basically.

It's easy to just say that and ignore the facts. I don't give a $hit if people are "stanning it up" for Mariah. Give me a break. I don't like it when they put words in her mouth, in her thoughts, assume things about her that are completely baseless and make fun of her for the sake of making fun of her. I've seen plenty of people who don't like the song and be respectful about it, and I have no problem with that whatsoever. It's the people who glee in Mariah's "failures" that I roll my eyes at. Your constant dismissive replies to me are the rude ones.

There are a handful of trolls on this board "gleeing" about Triumphant flopping, and those you just replied aren't the ones.

The chart does indeed exist. Its not remotely a big deal in the UK but its in no way made up.

I'm not sure I know what "rehash of her past" means. Rehash of "Vanishing"? Rehash of "Loverboy"?

The few songs I heard sound amazing, but I know that's about as helpful to you as jeremimi's karaoke songs

There are some that I like more, some that I like less, and basically I have ZERO idea what will actually end up on the album or as a single. I wonder if she'll be affected by the comments about "Triumphant"and PERSONALLY (OWN OPINION!!!!) I hope she won't be, because I feel like that will send her back to taking less risks and going with what's familiar.

I hope she takes risks on the album and the reaction to Triumphant doesn't put her off. I think more would probably like Triumphant if it had just been an album track.

Mariah said that the album will be "eclectic" mix of vocal driven ballads, uptempos and mid tempos and that the album is diverse so can you say Liron if that means she has dabbled with different genres on this album and not just stuck to one genre like she did on Memoirs?

I'm still looking forward to the album, cause I always enjoy her albums much more than the singles chosen. Triumphant is still just one song at the end of the day. Though I did enjoy it, I feel like I've moved on already. Next...
