Her voice was hoarse today. What a shame. She looked amazing though.

I kinda like the performance, her voice wasn't in top shape (even her speaking voice) but the setting was pretty grand and she looked great

After watching on my computer with headphones, I actually think it was good, she hits some impressive notes actually. You can really hear the crowd at the end too, they seemed pretty into the high notes in particular. Not a bad performance at all -- the audio mixing was atrocious though, I think it would have come off a lot better for the live crowd and on TV if that had been well done.

Actually that Gimme More performance is a good example of how the whole online environment breeds overreaction and group think mentality.

I remember seeing that performance trashed by everyone, it even made the top story on CNN.com for a few hours. By the time I actually watched it, I couldn't believe how unremarkable the whole thing was. I kept waiting for the disaster to happen and when it was over, I thought maybe I had the wrong video lol. It wasn't anything special, but it was nowhere near say Ashlee Simpson doing a jig on SNL or getting roasted by the crowd at the Superbowl.

With this performance, I can see people thinking it wasn't remarkable, but the worst thing ever? Have you heard the mic feed from Migrate? I don't know what it is about being online, but it seems to bring out the reactionary in people, especially on Twitter. Going the other way, I remember when the first snippet of Trumphant leaked (the one that sounds like noise, with a little rap and no Mariah). Someone actually said "I am pretty sure this is my favorite song this year". It reminds me of the Gutter parody. "I love everything and I'm pretty sure this is something"

It wasn't that bad. But it wasn't memorable either. Which brings up an interesting question. Is Mariah her worst enemy with these big live tv broadcasts? Why is she not more prepared for such crucial performances? Come on woman, if you don't have the voice to pull off high belting, stop recording songs that require you to look weak live.

I love her, but she's losing me.

I agree that she didn't sound good on this performance, but is that not a bit dramatic? I mean, her last concerts (Morocco, Monaco) we were all saying how great she sounded.

I'm more frustrated that she does those offline moments which are great, but when it comes to these big events she . I know her voice is unpredictable these days but I wish she would do whatever she does to sound great in those moments no one bar the fans sees and show the rest of the world.

And to be honest I'm more pressed that she didn't do VOL. But then again, her voice wasn't in good shape so it's probably for the best

She looked amazing but I think we can all admit she really sounded off and all  backround singers she hides under make it sound horrible and this isn't the first performance with these issues.  I really wish she could get her confidance back and get with someone who will put together an amazing stage show for her.

As usual, lambs are the biggest drama queens in all the land. She sounded fine and looked amazing. Sure, the song itself doesn't translate well live, but I thought she sounded just fine vocally on the bridge.

I think she sounded a mess on the bridge, but like others have pointed out, the song doesn't work live.
The dramatic ones in here need to take a few pills because you are WAYYYY overreacting. There are some nice little adlibs etc. she does that shows that she's still in a good stage vocally, she always sounds shaky at the start of her concerts too and needs to warm up. With a performance like this that just ain't happening.
