Aren't these performances usually include pre-recorded or lip synced vocals? I hope no one is expecting to be live. Any one remember Mariah's "Shake It Off" performance at that NFL performance some years ago?

LMAO! Is that performance the one where they carry her around the stadium like a Queen? smiley: pimp The one she sang DFAU, as well?
If yes, that's one of her best performances ever. I love how, at the end, she shouts: "Happy Thanksgiving!" and sounds hoarse (but sexy!) as hell. smiley: laugh

Oh my God, I forgot about that...

I hope she doesn't perform Triumphant. I mean, sure she will, but I have a glimmer of hope. UNLESS she actually gets the extra verse in there...then I'll be a happy camper.

Why on earth would she sing then? She has a single out, like the song or not, she has to perform it.

As long as Mariah keeps that thing happy, she's Triumphant!

That's ok because a lot of people will be watching. After all, NBC's Football is the #1 tv show in America, since you like statistics.

It must be that time of the month for several members here. It's been particularly bitchy lately. smiley: laugh

No, just playful banter although I meant what I said. I'm a huge football fan even though I can't stand neither of these teams. All I have to say is that the DNC is lucky the NFL decided move this game to Wednesday night, the day before, instead of it's normal Thursday night starting time because of the convention. It would be highly embarrassing to have most people watch a football game instead of listen to the President or whomever from that party speak at a nationally televised convention.

I didn't take it bad at all, he's a football fan (?) so I kind of drew first blood with that comment. Football is just not my thing, soccer, basketball or even baseball are cool, though.

The Superbowl performances of the anthem are pre recorded, but I don't think they are the norm for regular games. So we'll see!

I was generally commenting on how I imagined might be VMA or something worldwide

Gosh!!!!

VMA isn't really worldwide. What happened, yet again, is that fans assumed it was VMA, and now that it's something different............

Anyway, NFL is huge in America, this would get a lot more ratings than the VMAs. YAY MC. Can't wait.

Plenty of girlfriends will be watching with their boyfriends and see MC and maybe buy her single. Happy, chart-obsessers?

No, it just seems it would sound just about as good as Obsessed sounded when performed live. It was awkward-sounding. I would just rather she sing something brand new, as like a premiere sorta. Or maybe just a medley and then go into Triumphant, as someone else said, but without the rappers. While I guess it's a great song for a sporting event, meh, I don't know. Guess we'll have to see and hope for the best. I just wish she'd do something that truly features her vocals in a venue with this many viewers.
