Yeah! and I don't remember the tweets as such, but someone did copy paste a few here
A glowing review among them was lacking
Which makes it quite negative already

Though the more I hear it, the more I feel its OK. I guess anticipating for so long translated into expecting too much.
Yeah!

This must be her shortest stage appearance ever, singing one of her songs.
I don't get all the drama about her singing. She obviously had an off day.
On a positive note, I loved the live whistles.
It's been quite a while we haven't heard her use them live.

As usual, lambs are the biggest drama queens in all the land. She sounded fine and looked amazing. Sure, the song itself doesn't translate well live, but I thought she sounded just fine vocally on the bridge.

NBC. Would rather show Mariah Carey miming and all this nonsense than show the inspiring athletes of the #Paralympics.

:S

Not to derail the thread, but they didn't show the Special Olympics here in Canada either, meanwhile the Summer Olympics were on about 6 different channels.  Anyway, I found this photo of Mariah leaving the event on twitter while I was reading the comments.

Does anybody know what performance she brought out the red fan was?  Or was that between songs?

I work in Rockefeller and watched from my office. Minimal crowd reaction, Triumphant ended with a thud and got very few claps. The worst part was the "video" that that dude made that was playing on the screens during Triumphant, which i had a clear view of from my vantage point. No Doubt had animated graphics and artistic shots of themselves moving with the beat and the lights. Mariah had a cheap black and white home made video of her in her closet with very poor lighting and editing. 6 years ago Mariah would throw the tape across the room if she saw that.

An artist of Mariah's stature. She's known for her voice... Using cheap guide vocals on a track that are not even mixed properly. Shameful. Why why why! nice whistles at the end, that's all that I can say positive, the rest was a MESS!

OK you are right...but sometimes I really wonder if I am the only one who HEARS all that...Mariah is a perfectionnist to death...I am just so surprised...

Obviously Mariah was not in any sort of condition to sing that night, she was raspy even when she thanked the 2 rappers.

The performance and video and all was fine, very campy Mariah.

Normal people wouldn't praise or slag off the performance, just the drama queens - like always.

What's everyone's problem w/ this performance? It's the nature of the song itself that is the problem. It just isn't the greatest Mariah song but it's her current song. Her vocals were totally fine...there's been MUCH worse (like I Only Wanted on the View???).

Okay, after watching the full performance, it's not that bad.  The people on twitter are idiots.  One person tweeted that he's glad Michael Clark Duncan (who passed away Monday) is not here to see Mariah and No Doubts performances. smiley: sick

Yes the whistle notes were amazing.  It sounded like her voice was in whistle mode today as opposed to low note mode.  She said that happens sometimes in several interviews smiley: wink
