This will take place on Wednesday, September 5:

Mariah Carey and No Doubt are superstar acts, but they’ll be the openers for the NFL’s first game of the season.

Carey and No Doubt are set to perform live from Rockefeller Plaza before the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The hourlong pregame show will air at 7:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.

Carey says she’s thrilled to be performing in New York — which she called her hometown — and adds she’s looking forward to making the season launch “even more festive.”

No Doubt drummer and New Orleans Saints fan Adrian Young says he’s excited to take part, and noted that the band performed at Super Bowl in 2003.

Carey recently released the single “Triumphant (Get ‘Em).” No Doubt’s new album, “Push and Shove,” is out Sept. 25.

LMAO, only Mariah would use "festive" to describe a football event.

BUT YAAAAASSSS for this being in NY! I guess this is the performance.

If Mariah is performing Triumphant, they would really have to be there.

This will be nice to see, but sorry it will result in maybe 2 additional downloads. A 56 year-old drunk Cowboys fan is not going to run to iTunes to download this after hearing it.

I feel the same way. I can't see the NFL audience downloading anything Mariah related.

When did they say it was an international thing?

Oh.

There is this thing called the internet... lol.

Obviously it was always going to be "just" a US thing, anyone with a logical mind would've come to that conclusion.

Aren't these performances usually include pre-recorded or lip synced vocals? I hope no one is expecting to be live. Any one remember Mariah's "Shake It Off" performance at that NFL performance some years ago?

LMAO! Is that performance the one where they carry her around the stadium like a Queen? smiley: pimp The one she sang DFAU, as well?
If yes, that's one of her best performances ever. I love how, at the end, she shouts: "Happy Thanksgiving!" and sounds hoarse (but sexy!) as hell. smiley: laugh
