^I live in the US, and I actually hear We Belong Together on the radio pretty often for a song released in 2005. The DJ's usually have something nice to say after that song, like "that brought Mariah back" etc. Her older songs I hear on the radio are usually I'll Be There, Hero, Always Be My Baby, and We Belong Together. Also, I've heard Don't Forget About Us a few times in the past months.

It's weird, I almost never hear Vision of Love on the radio, but I Don't Wanna Cry and Someday still seem to get a ton of play.

^ Based on recent (from some months ago) recurrent airplay stats, 'Vision of Love' gets more spins than both 'Someday' and 'I Don't Wanna Cry'.

Actually I should rephrase that, I always hear Someday and IDWC and never VOL in department stores, but I guess those don't really use the radio, they are part of a service usually.

You guys that say that AIWFCIY isn't Mariah's signature song because "people don't think it's her song" are confused. It doesn't matter if people think it's a cover or not, Mariah's AIWFCIY is the one that radio plays each year and that charts worldwide every season, as well as being the most downloaded Christmas song of all time. Clearly people associate it with Mariah. Whitney's IWALY actually is a cover, but it's clearly Whitney's signature song regardless - Whitney's version will always be the definitive version no matter what. Same with AIWFCIY.

^ Yeah, I think that is very true. All my nieces and nephews know that song but had no clue of anything she's done prior, except a couple of them vaguely recalled Fantasy.

I think she has several signature songs because an artist of her calibre can get away with having several(due to her voice, songwriting, and production). WBT, Hero, AIWFCIY, Fantasy, OSD Emotions and VOL are all showcases of different parts of Mariah's versatility...

I agree. 'Hero' still gets a lot of recurrent airplay, but 'We Belong Together' is obviously more known by the younger audience.

According to someone on Pulse, Always Be My Baby was her biggest recurrent as of May. Obviously AIWFCIY wouldn't be played in May. Does anyone still have access to recurrent chart data post-2008?

Yeah, but don't underestimate how well "Hero" is known amongst people. The principal at my school read the lyrics at my graduation in 2006 (after the massive "TEOM" here) and I swear 50-75% of the seniors knew the song.

I think Hero, ABMB, WBT, and Fantasy Remix would be canidates for one format or another.

Haha...that reminds me of our 5th grade "heroes" assembly in 1997. Fifth graders from every school in the entire district (public) got together in some huge venue, and after a few "my hero is..." papers were read by their authors, everyone sang "Hero."

Whereas I'd be $1000 that 100% of them know "All I Want For Christmas Is You".  Point made.  =D

Apparently Mariah's 10 most-played recurrent tracks (per BDS) from August 28-September 3 were: Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together, Fantasy, I'll Be There, Hero, Emotions, Dreamlover, One Sweet Day, Can't Let Go and Vision of Love.

Not surprised, those are the ones I hear out and about. Although I've heard "Forever" quite a few times.
