Absolutely, No! Not if she wants the best chance of healthy relationships with her husband and children. A little privacy is needed.

Other huge stars have had flops.Mariah is not the first nor the last.Take Celine Dion for example. When was the last time she had solid album sales and a radio hit?Would she ever consider doing a reality show? No.Why not?Because she is Celine Dion.A legend.A diva. With a career like that, why would she ever need to go down that route? It would be so beneath her.As far as I'm concerned, the same goes for Mariah.

yes I hate how people ALWAYS throw it up that Mariah's last albums didn't do as well as before when honestly I can't really name any solid artist who are pulling in the numbers that they used to. People do not really buy albums anymore at least to the extent they used to. And while I think a reality show would be entertaining I don't think it is a good idea to open those kinds of flood gates, especially now that she has children they don't need that kind of exposure to this crazy ass world....more specifically to Mariah's crazy ass fans smiley: laughsmiley: laughsmiley: laugh...........no shade I love ya'll but ya'll know some of ya'll are on the border of smiley: aliensmiley: devilsmiley: alien ...  smiley: laughsmiley: laughsmiley: laugh

I dunno. I just feel like mariah is very much misunderstood and a reality show would bring her back up if SHE was an executive producer and was in total control of what was shown.

That's because Celine Dion literally makes hundreds of millions touring and that's where all her focus is.

Celine is not a legend at all, she's a 90s relic like Boyz II Men or Toni Braxton. Please don't lump her together with Mariah. Whitney, who is a legend, did a reality show (not that it was a good example of a classy reality show, but still )

Celine is def a legend. If Celine isn't, then Mariah isn't, the only notable and multiplatinum album Mariah released in this past decade was The Emancipation of Mimi, she doesn't have that much on her.

Celine, like Mariah, has kind of a loopy personality/sense of humor that most people wouldn't "get." A reality TV show wouldn't help them in any way.

People buy into this PR crap way too much. Celine is just as money hungry as the next person. There's a reason why Celine releases fewer albums (she doesn't even write) yet tours WAY more than she ever did before. She's chasing that dollar. Who has twins and then commits to another Vegas residency show? Please.

I agree.  I don't think it would take long for the general public to start to pick on her eccentricities and make her ripe for parody and I don't think she's got tough enough skin for something like that.  Plus, it would do nothing but hurt her reputation, as I'm sure it'd focus on stuff like her fame, ultra-femininity, etc -- basically all the stuff many people already find her annoying for.

Reality shows have got to be on the way out anyways, right?  In America, they've already been on top for 10 years. American Idol's ratings are starting to slip, hopefully they'll take the whole genre down with them.

Nope.  Not a good idea!  Typically reality shows are for celebrity flops and has beens.  Maybe when Mariah is in her 50's.  But not at this point in her career.

Reality TV is for hasbeens. No artist during a time of success has starred on reality TV, see Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Brandy, and Toni Braxton.

Not to be facetious, but what 'recent' success has Mariah had? Her last 2 studios albums were a flop. We can assume, but we have no idea of what stage of her career she's in right now...Just saying.

I hate when people say that!  It just irks me.  Mariah was in a career slump from 2000-2005, absolutely.  Then the amazing Mimi album happened.  But to say she has been flopping since 2007 is just absurd.  "Touch My Body" was her 18th #1, the album had her biggest opening sales week ever, and "Bye Bye" cracked the top 20.  In 2009 she had a moderate hit with "Obsessed."  It went top 10 for Christ's sake!  No, E=MC2 & Memoirs were not Mimi successful, but they certainly weren't on the same level as Charmbracelet & Glitter flops either.

I think they meant 'dignity' as in not doing 'tacky' reality TV shows. Celine is money hungry yes, but there's nothing tacky about her gigs in Vegas, her concert film was kinda tacky I guess, but it was more of an 'insight' into Celine's life rather than scripted trash e.g. Jersey Shore (btw, I love Jersey Shore).

Reality TV is interesting when it's about nobody's becoming somebody, but for has beens or artists of Mariah's caliber, it's kind of tacky. Osbournes pulled it off coz they were quite funny, maybe Mariah could pull it off, Mariah can be funny, but whether her funny side/mannerisms can be understood by the general public that's another matter.

^ Never saw them. In the UK, reality TV shows really are regarded as tacky shows.

Big Brother, X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, Survivor etc. etc. I don't think ALL reality shows are guaranteed to be tacky but the fact there are so many reality TV shows, it really needs something special to change people's perception of the genre. Shows like Jersey Shore fuel the tacky perception, in the UK we had something similar ages ago, can't remember the name but it was filmed in Ibiza and it was about club rep and every just got hammered and had sex.

Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing With The Stars) I originally thought was tacky, after watching it I became a fan of that particular program's formula.

I was just gonna say that.  We'd find it entertaining but I don't actually think a lot of people 'get' her. The only way a reality show would work for Mariah would be if they went for the "she's crazy" angle to keep people watching, so they'd all talk about how over the top she is.  If it was designed just to be cute in-jokes and to make people realise she's actually a nice person, it wouldn't work.  Plus I really disagree with the idea of her wh0ring her kids out for the sake of publicity, especially for Mariah, who has always maintained that she would want her kids to have as normal a life as possible.

Yes,thank you.

Of course,Celine wants money to support her luxurious lifestyle.Who doesn't?Yet,she would never do sth as tacky as a reality show to get that. Her Vegas shows are quite exceptional, very lavish productions and have received great reviews,if I'm not mistaken. How these shows can be linked to a reality show is beyond me.
