Really? Her debut is the only album of hers I actually enjoy. I thought they got worse.

Me too! Her debut and follow up (Diary) were the best, rawest music she made. I did not like As I Am (I couldn't stand the lead single "No One's" vocals) and The Element of Freedom was a mixed bag.

I'm really suprised no one seems to like her, was it because she stole Mashonda's man? smiley: roll

I love her debut, Diary was okay, kind of boring. On As I Am she is just... screaming and straining, and I didn't both with Element although I love "Unthinkable" and "Try Sleeping..."

^Yeah, that's why Element was a mixed bag, the lead single sucked, the Beyonce collabo sucked (sorry Beyhive!), Unthinkable and Try Sleeping... were great. A few other good tracks and some not so memorable.

As I Am is her worst to me. I played it and didn't have much interest in playing again.

You really should give Element a chance, it's by far her strongest effort imo. Love Is Blind, Wait Til You See My Smile, That's How Strong My Love Is, How It Feels to Fly, This Bed, all great tracks.

Yeah, but you know the Beyonce stans currently b*tching here would be celebrating it smiley: laugh.

I would have rather her pull a Christina and did a far-to-soon Greatest Hits. I'd enjoy it more since I do like a few her singles. I thought all of these  were pretty good:

You Don't Know My Name
Diary
Live Like You'll Never See Me Again
Empire State of Mind
Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart
Doesn't Mean Anything
Put It In A Love Song
Unthinkable (I'm Ready)

We are exactly the same when it comes to Alicia apparently smiley: laugh These are the exact Alicia songs I have on my iPod (apart from "Put It In A Love Song," which I'm not sure I've even heard, and then adding in "Wreckless Love").

'Crazy In Love' alone trumps her whole debut album. smiley: smokin And, tbh, it's not the BeyoncĂ© stans bitching about it. I just said "LOL dis #*@@!", but joking. I could care less what she does, unless she comes back with some groundbreaking material with her next album.

smiley: laugh oi! Don't be rude! smiley: laugh

I personally find Alicia and Beyonce albums roughly on par with each other..... their singles  and some album cuts are great, but mainly the rest of the albums are snorefests.

Hmm yeah, Mariah needs to release 20th Anniversary of 'Mariah Carey' and shut this b!tch up, hell make it a 10 disc collectors edition, 1 song on each disc!

Except Beyoncé had 5 great singles from her debut, whereas Alicia had just 1. Not on par in my eyes. And in terms of album tracks Dangerously In Love has more interesting songs on it, even though they get boring too.

We have different views then, coz 'Songs In A Minor' is more listenable start to finish providing the mood is right whereas 'Dangerously in Love' for me is just the 1st 3 songs, which happen to be the hit singles. (I didn't factor in Work It Out or '03 Bonnie & Clyde).

I honestly don't see anything wrong with Alicia doing this, it's nice for her fans... I personally could care less. I don't know why people are bitching, it's not like she said her album was legendary, she's just celebrating it's 10 year anniversary. (Did I just defend her?)

PERSONALLY, I'm waiting on the 10 year anniversary celebration of Glitter on September 11, this year. She can even perform Hero/Never Too Far at the opening of the WTC Memorial for it's release! JK
