This to me is the most confusing of Mariah's performances.  I at first thought it was pre-recorded and some parts may be but the section starting at 2:14 is certainly live.  i know we have some people here with phDs in Mariah Mannerism for Live Singing and i think that section fits the bill.  why mariah would sing only that section live i don't know.  so for me this is a really baffling performance.  i think it came off well but it was just strange.

This performance really highlights what a poor song ISIL is. The only good thing about this performance is the way she looks, that dress is perfect and her hair and make-up looks very #1's era.

I didn't mind the performance.
It seemed live up until the high belts towards the end.
It was basically similar to all of her performances when singing newer material.
Too bad she didn't get so nervous before these type of tv performances. (or it appears so)

I'll show some love in this thread! I have this performance on my hard drive and I do play it just for the ending! One of the rare times she ends a song with a high belt! smiley: eek

I usually stay out of appreciation threads if I don't appreciate…but I HAVE to make and exception for this one.
This performance was horrible, the new arrangement was horrible, it was totally lipped, and it was her ultra-stiff/weird phase.

I will say two positive things smiley: laugh

1 - She looked really amazing that night, great dress that actually fit her body and we know that is not always the case

2 - They changed the arrangement of the song. Too bad it went from a cheap keyboard loop to some boring violins that only made the song worse. But at least it wasn't a cheap loop

Yeah, it's a little bit off topic but at the begining of 2008 to June, she looked as usual, with a normal face, but it became strange

and after...

It's like it was 2 differents women. I just talk about her face, not her body or her wearing. There is something very strange...

It continued in 2009, for example this one :

and she had a normal face again since Cannes

parts are clearly live. I'm not saying that none of it is lipped, or that most of it is live, but its not totally lipped, and you know this.
