Wow, I love this song. It is definatly the crowning jewel of the Charmbracelet  album. I really wish Mariah would explore the whole rock genre a bit further. As much as I love me some hip-hop/r&b Mimi, sometimes I think MC is a closet rocker chick. If she delved deeper into the rock genre, I really think she would bring it to a whole other level and it would be a lot more soulful. Def Leoppard even gave her props saying something to the effect of "Finally after 20 years of this song being out, someone did a great cover of it." Plus the video is great and she looks smokin' hot in it! Check out this live performance in 2003:

I love it! The Mainstream Mix (or something? I forgot) is better cause she did that full voice mid-range adlib in the second chorus.
Oh, and IMO, it has one of the best high notes ever.

This used to be my least favorite on the CB album.  But I grew appreciation for it over the years, and have been jamming to it the past week.  Odd that you posted it.  And I agree, it has one of her best high notes ever.

I listened to the single version the other day and to me it sounded like they did extra production on the single version to hide even more her voice, which was already a weak whisper.... still, it's one of the few songs on that album that is not boring

Anyone have a link to the single version? I have never much cared for the album version, but I recall the music video being slightly different and improved.

Love the song/video/performances.

Definitely one of the highlights of CB, and I prefer the video version.

Love this song, my favourite from CB. I actually like the belting vocals on this, they have an electricity to them, I don't think they're scratchy at all. A bit cut and paste maybe.

I love the production, this was really a unique song in mariah's catalogue, she's never covered a rock song like this before (WY, AAO and OA are more ballads).

I love the single version with the extra vocals on the second chorus.

What other rock-like songs are even in her catalog? All that pops to mine is "You Need Me"
