These collections are not for die-hard fans. It's for casual buyers who just want an album full of her hits. They wouldn't be able to tell what the GH was or if there ever was one, unless it's displayed right next to this album. If so, they'd just choose which album cover/packaging they like better. It's just like supermarket products with new packaging (New improved formula!) that makes you wanna get them even though they probably just changed a minor ingredient if at all. Also, Sony probably didn't wanna include the original AIWFCIY because it's still a hot-seller as a single during the holidays.

It is clearly presented like being "Greatest Hits" :

In fairness, the GH came out a decade ago now.......God, time flies. They could have re-jigged the tracklisting (the Butterfly/Daydream era still baffles me) but re-done packaging isn't that bad.

so that means they must be discontinuing GH.  I am glad that at least they didn't use the awful font / formatting that they usually use for the Essential series.  I wont be buying this tho.

First off no I wont be buying this as it almost makes me sick with that way the are flooding the market with Albums that aren't going to sell in MC's name. Yeah it's true this kind of CD is for no-fans but how many non fans are buying her or anyones Album's these days.smiley: ohwell They are a record company they should know what the base of her fancore whats and what will sell. This could have the same tracklisting and Make This an Essential Live Greatest Hits Album with a DVD of performances to go with it. Come on how cool would it be if they used her best performances from TV shows and concerts to make an Album like that and sold a DVD with the videos of the performances?

Hey I'm bored around here....lol. I just saying it be nice if they released the tuff we want like The 94 Christmas Concert, Tokyo Dome Japan 96 and 98. I'm sure they have lots of rare stuff that would drive use wild and just getting sick of Sony not useing any of it. I could same the same with Universal with The Charmbracelet Tour and Angels Advocate.
