May as well have a new thread for her new album.

"I promise you, I'll never let you down. And not for nothing: The album's finished and it's !$*%%%+ really good. So whatever this is, whatever you just did for all of us…I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you. The funny thing is that some people have reduced freedom to a brand. They think that it's trendy now to be free. They think it's trendy to be excited about your identity. When in truth, there is nothing trendy about Born This Way. This connection that we all share is something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a !$*%%%+ meat dress. Born This Way is about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid."
It'll be interesting to see if she's able to put her money where her mouth is.  There's huge expectations for this album, and it'll be interesting to see if the album really isn't 'trendy' and if her claims that it'll be the best album of this decade is actually true.

Actually I think she also said the songs are very commercial with big hooks but the content is very political.

Other rumours:

- Gaga said it the album might have 18-20 tracks
- There's been a lot of buzz about Lady Gaga's Born This Way, with Gaga herself opening up about the upcoming LP at a recent concert stop. And while there are still some details up in the air, like what it will sound like and when it will drop, one of the team's main men shared a few more details about the full-length follow-up to Gaga's smash debut, The Fame.

"We're just starting to play music for the label," Gaga's manager and Coalition Media Group CEO Troy Carter said during an interview at the recent Billboard Touring Conference and Awards. "We're very excited about it. We're starting to play a little for people and getting a feel for it, and she's done an incredible job, a really incredible job."

Carter also talked about what the new album will mean for the business of Gaga, admitting he has no set strategy for it. "Well, you know what, it's not where I go from a business standpoint, it's more about where she goes creatively because, truth be told, we built the business around her creative infrastructure and that business that was built is unique to Lady Gaga," he explained, not willing to reveal a release date. "We haven't announced a date ... nope ... it's coming soon."

RedOne, who has worked with Gaga on smashes like "Bad Romance" and on the current album, believes that Born This Way will really step up the singer's already stepped-up game. "I think it's more of her freedom album. It's like freedom, this album ... it's her album!" he explained to MTV News.

"To be honest with you, I think that this album that she's making is too precious to talk about. When it comes out you'll hear and you'll make your choice. I think you're gonna love it. But I think it's too precious for me to talk about it. It's crazy."

I'm really excited for some new music from Gaga.  She puts out some of the most interesting and best pop music out there right now.  I didn't get sick of TF+TFM for a very long time.  Born this way will hopefully be much better.

I hope when she says political it's well done and not just trying to be controversial.

I agree.  People love GaGa most with fun pop music.  That's why I always say to have the videos be more political and controversial and keep the music fun.

I really hope I don't get an album of half dance tracks, and half "Speechless" re-duxes.  I have faith in my girl!

I love the formula she has now:  (RAH)^2 (AH)^3 (ROMA) [RO(MA)^2] (GA)^2 [O(LA)^2]

I'm really not that excited b/c I don't know if she can or will outdo herself. This album better live up to the hype or she'll be ripped to shreds.

I agree.  She's calling her album the best of the decade.  Funnily enough, the decade is just starting so that's not saying much smiley: laugh.  "The Fame Monster" was such an epic EP/album/re-release/piece of Godly work, that I'm not sure she can top herself either.  I hope it's at least as good as "The Fame" was; amazing singles, a handful of good album tracks, and minimal filler.

^ Yeah, I really doubt she can top 'The Fame Monster'. That was definitely one of the Pop albums of the decade, imo. I'm sure the new one will be great but she's probably overhyping it.

^Yeah, but with me she's hit or miss. I find that she has her share of fillers. She's someone, I'd rather buy digital singles from than the whole album as I'm discovering.

I find that I loved some of her Elton John/John Lennon-inspired songs like "Speechless" and "Brown Eyes," but it's very redundant.  Her new song "You & I" was nice, but I'm sure those are the songs that will get the least amount of repeat.  "The Fame Monster" to me had NO filler.  Tracks 1-7 were pop masterpieces of the decade.  (hence why her re-release sales are far more impressive than Usher, Ke$ha, etc.)

Ok, I was wondering how a Gaga fan could not be excited for her new album, but ur more someone that likes some of her songs as opposed to being a fan.

Agreed, however initially I could listen to The Fame without skipping any tracks, then some of the songs got old. The Fame Monster was not as immediate, some tracks had to grow on me, but when they did, WOW, I thought the whole album was amazing. I actually didn't fall in love with 'Bad Romance' until the video dropped.

Can a mod edit that 2nd post by DutchLamb? that ridiculously large image is messing up the thread format. Maybe just have a link to the image?

Yeah, I don't 'love' her like you do. For me, she needs to step her game up. She'll sell regardless, but that's not really of concern to me. I just want more quality.
