That is true. But it doesn't have to do with Mariah only.We expect celebrities to be model perfect. It is not accepted to gain weight. We do not forgive that.Do you remember what happened with Jessica Simpson? She had gained weight and everybody talked about it.The same goes for Oprah Winfrey-actually in her case the criticism has never stopped about her flunctuating weight-,Tyra Banks,Kristie Alley and the list goes on.
Then, it sounds like an issue those people need to deal with, within themselves. To say it's not acceptable or that we do not forgive, is just crazy to me. Why would they have to be forgiven? For not being/portraying the image that you want? Again, that sounds like something you need to deal with, within yourself. And, if they become the weight you find acceptable, it doesn't make them automatically "healthy."
I don't expect celebrties to be anything, but entertainers. Yes, I can be inspired, but at the end of the day, I need to be okay with who I am as a person, which includes having a positive and healthy body image of myself. I know what it is like to be 500+ pounds, 400+ pounds, 300+ pounds and 230 plus pounds. When I decided it was time for me to make a change, it wasn't because of anything any celebrity said or did. I did it for me. If you look to celebrities to be whatever image you have of them in your head, then you are setting yourself up to be disappointed.
