Her voice was amazing in Brazil. I'm not sure why people on here want another rushed studio album of tired R&B beats when we can get something fresh and unheard in awhile like an Xmas/Gospel sound.

^It's because I think Mariah was in her best vocal condition ever in the 'Merry Christmas' era, and I wish she had used that year to make a studio album instead of an xmas album which I can only listen to one month a year.

ROTF. Endless Love is one of the best ever vocals. If you think its a screamfest go listen to Rihanna or something. Mariah was never here for restrained boring vocals.

Anyway @Kevo, yeah Merry Xmas was her best album vocally for me. She took it to church on every song and the production on the songs was also very impressive. It showcased the fact that she can stand out as one of the all time vocal greats and sing classic songs BETTER than anyone else. I personally found Memoirs to be so underwhelming and tired that I for one cannot wait for this change of direction.

^Yeah, I think she realizes that on the next studio album, she's going to probably have to throw the gauntlet down and come out with 'impressive' vocals. I expect something on the lines of TEOM, vocally, speaking, without the 'shrieks'(ala Mine Again).

I'll second that although I doubt she'll be bringing that with an X-Mas album of second fiddle covers.

I think MB was more of a screamfest and

^It was but I needed some type of an adjective to describe that single without mentioning it's name. I guess Mariah fans are in the minority. I'm not a fan of the cover. I liked the original much better b/c they weren't 'trying too hard', at least in Mariah's case. Luther was great as usual.

No no no, TEOM was the screamfest album. I literally have to turn down the volume. Mine again, Stay the night, Your Girl etc...I know she wanted to show she could still belt, but all the time I was thinking, that's not the same as yelling! lol. I Love TEOM though. Just that a few songs aren't vocally my favourites..

While I appreciate Lionel/Dianas version, I find his vocals somewhat irritating. And Mariahs voice on EL is just insane. I think its one of her best all time vocals :X

Well now that we know Mariah voice is in even better shape then it was on the AA Tour after her performance in Brazil I think we can all say the vocals are gonna be amazing on the Christmas Album. I'm so excited MC hasn't had her voice sounding like this since the 90's and I just know this is gonna be a beautiful Album.

THIS.  And I'll throw in all the climaxes on the Rainbow album, especially CTTA and AAO.  I remember playing that CD in the store I used to work at and having to run back and forth to the radio to turn it down and back up again.
