love love love this song i was listening to it just the other day and i forgot how deep and moving this song is for me...the part where she sings "if i'm not quite good enough or some how undeserving of a mothers love u could have had the decensy to give me up before u gave me life" made me cry because thats exactly how i feel with my mother but that's a whole other issue and it aint for the mariah messageboard lol...but that song just hits the spot and that is the reason i love her because its like she reaches inside u and sings exactly what your feeling...mariah u r the best with out a doubt in my eyes and heart!

I must say that GLITTER is my second favorite album this decade, Memoirs being first.

And Reflections is perhaps my favorite song on the album. It's great! I LOOOOVE the performance of it at Home for the Holidays. It was very touching and emotional... plus AMAZING vocals.

I can't even know what to say!

The best ballad on Glitter by far and one of her great, stripped down ballads. And we even got a good live performance of it! How can you go wrong.

Was that "Home for the Holidays" concert ever released on DVD? My VHS copy of it is just OK.

An absolutely wonderful song. I always cringe at the abortion line though.

That´s why I like the live version better, where she says...  "You could have had the decency to give me up... the day you gave me life", instead of "before you gave", which implies adoption instead of abortion.

Well, I'm not morally against abortion or anything like that, I just think the topic is grossly out of place on a song like this.  The adoption version is less jarring.

It's a good ballad, a little bit over the top at times, but the amazing instrumental and vocal performance makes up for it.

I know what you mean, but I can imagine that that's a thought that has crossed many children in foster care's minds, especially those who were abused, which is unfortunately much too common.

I saw Glitter an embarrassing and shameful number of times when it was in theaters lol.

I remember taking a friend opening weekend and she cried during the "Reflections" scene. As we were walking out she asked, "What was the song she sang on the piano about her mom?"

She bought the soundtrack the next day.

Well the live version was sung at an adoption special or something.
