According to IDJ Rihanna is #1 on the Hot 100 this week:

(March 17, 2010 – New York, NY) The Island Def Jam Music Group takes over the top of the charts with an explosion of album and singles releases – starting with the brand new album by Ludacris, THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES, debuting today at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and R&B/Hip-Hop chart, with first week sales of 137,000 copies.

IDJ’s hot streak carries over to the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, as “Rude Boy” by Rihanna jumps into the #1 spot, the 22-year old star’s 5th #1 solo single (and overall 6th #1 career single) in less than four years. At #3 this week is “Break Your Heart” by Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris, which formerly held the #1 spot on the Hot 100 last week.

On the iTunes list Top 10 singles, “Break Your Heart” by Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris owns the #1 position for a third consecutive week. Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” comes in at #4. And Teen Island star Justin Bieber has an unprecedented two singles in the iTunes Top 10 for a third consecutive week, “U Smile” at #3, and “Baby” featuring Ludacris at #9.

Waiting in the wings as IDJ’s next top chart contender is Justin Bieber’s MY WORLD 2.0 album, to be released next week (March 23rd).

LMAO @ hot streak. They had amassed flop after flop before they could save their reputation's ass with Rihanna.
They couldn't even handle their #1 artist's releases .

Meanwhile they still have banners about 'Angels Cry' on their website. Haven't they realized that song flopped even at the smallest formats? IDJ cracks me up. Period.

Their #1 artist? Are you saying that you still think Mariah is their '#1 artist or #1 priority'? It's obviously Rihanna b/c she's been the one churning out hit singles consistently since her 2nd album. I would think that if you combine digital single sales and album sales, Rihanna has probably outside Mariah since TEOM. So Rihanna IS their #1 priority not Mariah.

How many top 10s does Rihanna have? I think she might be up there with Beyonce.

^^ Which is sad because Mariah is obviously the artist, not Rihanna. She's just a contrieved robot who takes songs written by others and would like the world to think she's got this complex and hard persona. So fake!

And Rihanna is so going to leave IDJ once her contract is over. She's going to Roc Nation with Jay-Z and send a big F-U to IDJ.

At least Beyoncé writes something. Wheter she's overcredited or not it's irrelevant to this discussion.
And Beyoncé is an artist. She dances and sings circles around Rihanna and has a far more interesting personality and vision.

I don't think she does. What she does is vocal arrangements, which Whitney does too - without WRITING credit.
And your second paragraph is debatable too. Well, obviously she sings better, but I don't think she has any more personality or vision. Especially not personality. Rihanna and Beyonce are two of the most uninteresting interview objects I've ever seen.

I doubt Rihanna even takes care of her vocals, but whatever. Beyoncé wrote the bridge of 'Irreplaceable' and 'Crazy In Love' and that's established and I'm sure she's contributed to other songs as well.
Beyoncé is a very visual artist. Her videos are superior to Rihanna's and her concerts are very well staged. And there are countless other acts who seem manufactured in interviews, but everyone has a PR team behind them so it's not surprising. Still, Beyoncé >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rihanna. And it's not even close
