Hey at least her name is getting out there so when her remix cd comes out, people will be more aware that she has a new CD out.

This woulda been great if she had mentioned her new CD, as for the new vocals speak for yourself, most folks didn't know she had/listened to the current so they aren't gonna care about new vocals...the current vocals are great, wish folks stop being so ungrateful and tyrannical.

I have to say my favorite part of her speech is:

'' - ...because my friend Rhonda said: If you don't read this book you ain't living.
- ... and I said Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?''

I laugh hard everytime!! lol

Exactly. I said this a couple of minutes ago in a different thread, but I knew this would be blown so far out of proportion. And I'm not down with the whole "any publicity is good publicity" thing in this case; when people hear her song, they're going to think about that silly speech. I don't understand why people love to see her fail...I guess it's because she's so nice and vulnerable...and nervous. It makes me wish her bitchy side would come out more often during non-music-business related interviews. But she's human...and so humane. It's unfair.

Pretty sure my favorite is "I don't look anything like that b!tch up there!" (Lee's response: "Oh god..."). It kind of pisses me off that he just sat there and rolled his eyes and talked about how she embarassed him when she met Helen Mirren....especially since he's the one who supposedly got her drunk.

What's sad about this is that Mariah was finally getting good press and some respect because of Precious. Now I feel like this has completely overshadowed all of that. Other celebs have appeared on stage intoxicated while accepting an award. The Golden Globes are usually chalk full of them. It's cute and funny when they do it, but because it's Mariah, she's 'being crazy'. It's ridiculous and totally unfair. Why oh why does a scandal have to happen right before an album release.image Especially since the controversy isn't usually in her favor.

I think it was amazing, this is the most publicized part of this era, if they were smart they'd release the album Þhis month. My baby has shwon up to 2 different events tipsy and saying fun. 'MC' sh!t, now people (who think that she 'thinks' she better than anyone) will see she has a since of humor, and not just hear her say it. I think it is g®eat promo.

Actually most of the reactions about the PSIFF speech I've heard/read are pretty positive, along the lines of "Well at least, she's being natural there. She's funnier when drunk."

The reactions are much worse about the People Choice speech. There, you can clearly see that they don't get her, since she's her normal self.

Please look at what a mess Britney is and everyone loves her for it because they think she be cool to hang out with. I think this moment makes Mariah human to people and even if they are hating now they will wind up loving her for these moments as we do.

The ''embarassed'' part was related to her encounter with Saphire.
