I assure you that anything Mariah's done since TEOM is not "icing on the cake". Now, of course Mariah is rich enough to not have to record another album and still live a comfortable lifestyle. Thank God someone's got their business head on. Your post is totally valid of course but I suspect this particular project wont be profit aimed. Not because its a 'gift' or some other Care Bear stare BS that we're being fed but because its a boardroom decision to wrestle her into staying with an extended contract.

Even if she was unhappy with how IDJ handled the album, it must have been quite the temptation to have the label improve your album and get a whole second chance on it. How many artists get that kind of oppourtunity in such a cut throat industry?

And also- not that there's really anyone here who falls under this description- why wouldn't people who don't like her music be interested in her sales? Some people are just into the music industry/charts. Is something so wrong with that?

lol i didn't read what any of them had to say. All I had to see was "let me explain something" and I knew he couldn't possibly be talking to me.

and you don't know me by now. But when it comes to Mariah Carey - I'm right - they're wrong. You agree with them because you, like them, don't appreciate or understand her.

Of course. You didn't have to ask. Anyone who questions Mariah or says they don't like something she does or wears or says is a hater. Didn't you know? image

But you do that all the time. I haven't seen you say ONE good thing about anything she's done in the last couple of years. That's even more annoying than someone being overly positive.

^I say positive things on here all the time. You and your fellow idiotic stans just focus on the posts where I'm not kissing Mariah's @ss. And don't sit there and lie about people being overly positive. You love that, and want everyone on this forum to blindly praise everything about Mariah, like she's some kind of queen or something. You don't find that annoying at all.

I'm probably one of the most balanced posters on here. Some would say even more on the negative/harsh side.

The problem with ex-fans such as yourself is that you simply don't like the music anymore, yet still have some twisted desire to constantly go and dump on your one time idol. Now that's truly pathetic, and only ruins it for those of us who still genuinely enjoy the music and believe Mariah is getting better as the years go by, not the opposite.

ROFL. Same here. image

They're really mental. They just don't get that we appreciate Mariah, the artist, and therefore we can have expectations from here because we're aware of what she capable of. Those stans are such a disgrace to her. They should go and join some Britney board since they love everything which is shoved done their throats, especially when it's crappy and quickly produced. That's an insult to Mariah's talent to accept anything the way they do.

That's a good theory, and if true, it means that of course the decision for this remix album to be released was business-minded even if it's not intended to make a profit. IDJ will let her release this project now so she'll stay with them in the future and go back to making hits. I'm expecting fairly low-key promo on this release. It wouldn't surprise me if it's very quietly shipped to Target stores. It's just not reasonable of IDJ/Mariah to expect big sales from this, unless one of the singles becomes a big hit. Watch people get all confused and go to the store and buy 'Memoirs', expecting to hear the remixes LOL.
