T4P! I didn't know that but it makes sense. I hope they re-release the album worldwide with some of the new featured artists, since this 'Remix' album is for US Target stores only.

it baffles me that people who aren't into mariah's music are so concerned with how much she sells.... SHE'S NOT PUTTING THIS OUT FOR PROFIT ... the woman is worth 250million dollars! Anything she's done since TEOM has been icing on the cake. Mariah Carey makes royalty money just for waking up every day (afternoon)

Oh come on...of course it's not her sole reason, but I'm sure she'd like to make some money from it, especially since she's a partner at Island Records (which means she gets more for each CD sold). She's stated blatantly in the past that she wants to make money, and she wants to keep making it to support her current lifestyle. Who can blame her?

Let me explain something...IDJ is a company (not a not-for-profit organization) that invests a great amount of money into their product (Mariah) in the hopes of a good return. You really think they pay her a multi-million dollar contract and spend tons on the production and promotion costs of her albums for their health? I assure you that anything Mariah's done since TEOM is not "icing on the cake". Now, of course Mariah is rich enough to not have to record another album and still live a comfortable lifestyle. But if you think Mariah/IDJ don't care about how much she sells, you need serious medical attention. DISCLAIMER- this post does not intend to portray Mariah Carey as a souless commercial machine with no artistry. But IDJ views her primarily as not an artist, but a capitalist venture.

And also- not that there's really anyone here who falls under this description- why wouldn't people who don't like her music be interested in her sales? Some people are just into the music industry/charts. Is something so wrong with that?

This album is primed to sell MUCH more than the original Memoirs. The label has nothing to worry about.

The fans will buy it for the extras, and the public will buy it for the "features". God, Mariah fans are downright paranoid about every move she makes now. Every artist has put out music that has not sold up to par. Mariah is no different. That doesn't mean suddenly everything she releases will turn to sh!t.

I'm sure she wants to make money, but I also think this project came out of Mariah and Tricky wanting to have some fun with pairing Mariah's voice with other major artists of the time. It's not about re-inventing the wheel because they did it right the first time. The only people so worried about this project seem to be the ones that were underwhelmed by the original. It's like come on, just relax and go with it. Mariah simply isn't going to make much money from this no matter how you slice it. Artists today make far more money touring and making personal appearances. This should be a fun project, yet everyone seems so miserable and uptight. image

"OMG it's going to flop"! Seriously, save the drama for grandma.

"Really cool features on the same album...". What's the point in buying the new one if there's nothing "new" on it? You can listen to the "features" on YouTube. Maybe I'm just saying that because I don't like the features that have already leaked? In any case, I already own Memoirs, so I'm good.

Then it's not for you. Big deal. It's for people who actually like her features and look forward to getting some added unreleased tracks. If it don't float your boat, that's cool. Meet cha back here in 2012. I just don't understand the drama either way. And the people least interested in this project seem to be the same ones constantly b!tching.

Of course now I'm b!tching about b!tching. Never ends...image

Mariah makes way more music than most popular artists could ever dream of. She worked her ass off for Memoirs, and once that was done, she had other things to do. Besides, she obviously loves the original tracks on Memoirs, so she probably didn't want to change it that much. She doesn't want to give people a completely different album. She wants more people to get Memoirs, and if this is what she has to do to get more people to hear her music, then so be it.

she has gone over to being ok with making more money with a product that she didn't put any effort in. there won't be more people who'll listen to memoirs now, only the fans will care for this.... and what do we get? recycled music. why does she do it? for the money.

You're contradicting yourself. No one will really buy this, yet she's doing it for the money? The TEOM re-release was about money. I doubt even Mariah expects Angels Advocate to bring in any real money.

I'm not contradicting myself, because I do think Mariah thinks it will bring her more money. If she is not releasing it for the money, why is she releasing it? for the fans? If so, I wish she'd know our wishes better.

^ Speak for yourself. She does seem to know my wishes. I wanted her to work with Dream and Tricky and Timbaland. I also wanted to hear some of the tracks that were cut from the album.

God forbid anyone talk about how they feel, least of all in one post. Newsflash, honey...this forum isn't just for @ss-kissing. People can talk about being displeased by something she does, just as other talk about what they do like. Get over it. No amount of retarded arguing from the stans is going to change that.
