ok, i'm bored and i don't know it this was already brought up... but looking back, i remember in the grammies, when bono won the award for best album of the year, and he said mariah has the voice of an angel.

and i'm sure people tell her that all the time... beyonce once said that her voice comes from God; fat joe said she has a "cloudy" tone...

i must say, i'm not happy with the title myself, because i thought it was cheesy...
but maybe the title has sth to do with people always associating mariah's singing with an angel...

plus, she always has these inspirational songs and now we see titles like obsessed and hate u... just wondering.

this is what the "imperfect angel" is all about...
i think she wants some 'mature' image, or maybe show some stronger mariah!

leave behind all those glitters, and unicorns, hello kitties and rainbows...

Interesting thoughts! The title has a dreamy and melancholic vibe. Actually I wondered today if it has been discussed that "memoirs" are normally written at the end of a life span - just imagine this was her last album image

so maybe she wants to talk about all the time before emancipating herself from her ex-husband and stuff?!

the period of her life she was an 'angel', but deep inside she knew she wasn't, and didn't want people to think she was...
and here is the 'imperfect' thing... (?!)

Lets face reality MEMOIRS does mean, finale end, thats it.
but i have been a fan of mariah for over 15 years and if i know like i think i know her, she will never leave the music industry. I really think music is more important to her more than anything in this world and the fans.

I've been thinking about this for a moment. This album could be Mariah last album....then she will take a long hiatus to make a family with Nick Cannon...and after 5 or 6 years later she will make a new album again....it's make sense for me. But hopefully not..

If she doesn't break the record with this album, I see her pumping out albums till she does. And she dont stop... it's just an album, not a book. if she did release a book "Memoirs".

I think we all assume that Mariah will take a break and it is possible if she has a baby. But after considering how quickly she is putting out Memoirs, I think we underestimate her passion for making music. It's in her blood and she clearly loves what she does. I think Mariah will become bored if she doesn't keep making music.

I can see a new Mariah album every 2 or 3 years until she is 60 TBH.

I don't think making music is much of an effort for her. On the other hand, touring and promotion is. I can see her still making albums but with less promotional tours. Even with a baby Mariah will churn those albums out.

I can see that too. Even if she has a baby, I don't see her leaving the music scene for more than two years. She draws inspiration for songs from her own life and if she has a baby, she'll have so much to write about that she'll be itching to get back in the studio as soon as the baby is stable.

And I agree that making music isn't much of an effort for her. She'll probably remain actively recording for a long time, but her promo will be less and less. She'll eventually become like the other older divas who push out albums with little to no promo or appearances and continue to sell on the strength of their fanbase alone.

And as much as it pains me to give Nick some credit, I think he probably had something to do with Mariah embracing an angelic self-image. He probably boosted her own confidence enough to where she doesn't feel unworthy of being called an angel, but her own insecurity still crept in enough to place the "imperfect" in front of that title.

^^ Yeah, Madonna had her first baby at 38 and released an album like 1,5 years later. I don't see any reason why Mariah couldn't/wouldn't do the same.

I agree, assuming, of course, Mariah is inspired. With Madge, post-baby she had the whole "I used to be a sh!t to people but now look at me with my baby and yoga and Kabbalah" thing to spin. I don't think having a baby would change Mariah as much (certainly not her public image)- but I think she may be eager just to get back to work anyway, much as she seemed to be this time around despite her new marriage. I'm still not sure she will actually have a baby- despite the rumors, there's something about it that doesn't seem very Mariah. Time will tell though.

^ Yeah, having a baby was probably the best thing Madonna could have done for her career at that point. I hope that wasn't the sole reason though.

@ "there's something about it that doesn't seem very Mariah". I know what you mean though, I just can't see Mariah with the big belly and all that, I mean how weird would that be.. She'd probably still wear the tiny bikinis and mini skirts.

No, it was good for her personally too- it allowed her to trick people into thinking she wasn't a controlling b!tch anymore when really, she still was JK, there must be some genuine reason she keeps snatching those African babies.

Yeah, marriage didn't really change Mariah much, so I'd imagine she'd try for the same route with a baby. I can see her adopting or something over natural conception. This is going off on a tangent a bit, but it's interesting how, say, 15 years ago, people would probably think Mariah would be so much more likely to have children than Madonna. Just goes to show images aren't always so real.

I think Mariah will go from making albums to the nursing home she might take a break to have a child but I don't actually think she can stop and as long as she has her voice she'll be able to sell records and eventually be able to experiment like doing a jazz album or whatever. As for adopting I see Nick wanting his own kids I could see Mariah adopting but I'd think he'd want his own blood
