i mean, some people see gimme more as a flop...

nobody remembers anything from aguilera since stripped.
i don't want her to flop, i want her tranny looks, her pretensious songs and her big ego to just go.
Definitely agree with that.

And my inner Britney stan wants to scream "GIMME MORE" WAS NOT A FLOP!! Because, really, it wasn't. It got to #3 on the Hot 100, and overall it's a flantastic song! It's right up there with SexyBack, Promiscous, and The Way I Are as some of the most progressive (albeit very very mainstream), futuristic Pop/R&B singles of the 00s. Not Myself Tonight is so clearly made to sound like either a GaGa or Britney song it's ridiculous. At some points, I can even sing Gimme More over Not Myself Tonight, the only difference is Gimme More is an extremely hot song with sick production.

This.

Not only "Gimme More" but you can sing NMT over "Dirrty" too, just like that video someone posted.

^ TRUTH.

Ya know what though, I'll be the first to admit it, Dirrty was a HOT ass song! I STILL jam to Dirrty. It's - imo - her best single to date (or at least, my favorite). Such a great song.

But even then, she was ripping off Britney. The Dirrty video was such a hot mess tranny version of Slave 4 U, which is by far one of the sexiest videos of the decade. I mean, come on XXXtina, I know she was going through a whole image crisis with that whole "I wanna be a porn star" phase, but grinding half naked in a sludge-filled public restroom? That's just nast.

I definetely like some songs on her Stripped album, even though there's not 1 song on that album that isn't a carbon copy of other artists songs.

^ The Fighter video is by far her best video! I remember being obsessed with that video when it came out.

I think it's one of her most fitting vocal as well. I don't really mind the screaming and growling on that song, it's actually kind of appropriate for its lyrics/theme.

My favorite song from her is "Walk Away", which causes me a total breakdown whenever I listen to, lol.

I also love "Loving Me 4 Me" (whole thing with the interlude) from the same album, vocals arragement and the production is so pretty.

But, for this first single from the forthcoming album I'll say again; I didn't listen to it more than 5 times.

Loving Me 4 Me is the best, most gorgeous song in her entire song catalogue. Her vocals are stunning, and the arrangement is beautiful. (even though it's so clearly influenced by Mariah. It reminds me of Fourth of July). I like Walk Away, too.

I still can't even listen to Not Myself Tonight without cringing. It's so clearly desperate that it should be called "Desperation Tonight."

The Christina songs I truely like:

First album:
Genie In A Bottle
Come On Over (All I Want Is You)

Christmas album:
Christmas Time

Stripped:
Walk Away (one of her best!)
Infatuation (my favorite)
Impossible

Back To Basics:
Makes Me Wanna Pray (why wasn't this released as a single?!)
Candyman
Nasty Naughty Boy
Hurt
Mercy On Me
The Right Man

Song I dislike the most:
Dirty (awful)

And so I stand here and testify
To small and great alike
So the more you curse me
The more you're blessing me
The Word said it
Love your enemies

Do good to those who curse you
Pray for those who mistreat you

(Wish You Well / Mariah Carey)

I know, very odd. Dirtyy is a bit of a monster tune.

Agreed. I remember hearing it for the first time like a year ago and being in total shock. I told my friend OMG, she does know how to use her voice, why does she not do this more often? Not a grunt, a yell, a strain to be heard.

Exactly. Her restraint shows power and control in that song. I also like Without You from B2B. Its along the same lines.
