hrmm.. I can';t see her performing this style of song on Oprah. She will prolly perform Lift me Up. POP radio controls Itunes , NMT is already like top 20 on pop radio, this song shouldn't be falling this low on itunes already.

lady gaga is also #21 at itunes and climbing.

when you remember it's her sixth single from a re-release and people already bought her album months ago, it makes NMT even a bigger flop.

i'm starting to think xtina dissing helps careers.
she dissed mariah when teom was about to explode and now lady gaga is huge.

i think she should start trashing her own work to get hits.
it's not like it's gonna be hard anyway.

it's too early to call it a flop.

Odd, I dont see the word 'flop' anywhere in the post you quoted.....I guess you just really wanted to say that lol.

^^ People want this song to flop when it still has a pretty solid bullet (decreasing yes, but not flailing), and when its itunes position has fallen even though there is no video and Christina has not been able to promote it yet.

So if a song doesn't go #1, it's a flop? I'm confused, but whatever. I guess lambs just do it because she's so egotistical that she needs to be brought back down to earth by wishing her failure LOL.

P.S.  In no way do I think this song will be a super smash by any means, but going by the top 40 chart, it will probably peak top 10 pop airplay, maybe top 5 if it keeps up, and with the video and promotion, it will probably end up going top 10 hot 100.  That's not a flop for someone who hasn't had a #1 in almost 10 years LOL.  She's not a super super star anymore, but she's not a hasbeen either.

At this rate she's getting there. She hasn't had a real big hit since Can't Hold Us Down. This single is pretty crucial for her.

I was wondering that myself. Where did I call the song a flop? These Christina Stans are so touchy.

i'm sorry... it is kind of a flop... mariah didn't need a video to get TMB to the top of a itunes... and she is not a big digital seller.

xtina fans just need to accept that she is reaching the hasbeen zone.
the excuses they are now saying because the song is not doing better is ridiculous.
there's always gotta be a reason, right? can't it be because the song sucks?

if britney released a song from a new album after years and if it was only top 10, it would be considered a flop.
i mean, some people see gimme more as a flop...

nobody remembers anything from aguilera since stripped.
i don't want her to flop, i want her tranny looks, her pretensious songs and her big ego to just go.

I really think this is an instant when an artist's personality is rubbing the public the wrong way. You could say Mariah fans just hate her because she publically dissed her. But I think her attitude keeps a lot of people from embracing her. She's not someone you root for because she's kind of a snarky twit. Even Whitney was able to maintain some likability throughout her climb to the top. Christina comes off as a know it all who's better than everyone else. Even going so far as to put a rude diss of one of her producers on record (that's just a no-no). So while people may support some of her singles, it's tougher to support her career, because she's established that she doesn't really need anyone.  The unoriginally doesn't help either.

Even her "shout outs" to her fans seem fake, contrived and totally ripped off from Mariah.

Ain't No Other Man, Hurt, and Keeps Getting Better did decently internationally as well as here, at least on the pop charts.  Hasbeen to me is someone like Ashanti or J.Lo who can't get any airplay (excluding Ashanti's "The Way I Love You" which did decently as well on the R&B charts).  At least she'll go top 10 here.

Still I agree though that this album in general is very important to the status of her career, as she doesn't have veteran status like Mariah who basically went 10 years of full out hits before she even had a mishap.

^ ANOM did badly for a lead single, Hurt was a flop in general and Keeps Getting Better missed the top 10 at Pop radio. It just gets worse with each release for her.

Definitely agree with that.

And my inner Britney stan wants to scream "GIMME MORE" WAS NOT A FLOP!! Because, really, it wasn't. It got to #3 on the Hot 100, and overall it's a flantastic song! It's right up there with SexyBack, Promiscous, and The Way I Are as some of the most progressive (albeit very very mainstream), futuristic Pop/R&B singles of the 00s. Not Myself Tonight is so clearly made to sound like either a GaGa or Britney song it's ridiculous. At some points, I can even sing Gimme More over Not Myself Tonight, the only difference is Gimme More is an extremely hot song with sick production.
