Goldfrapp about Christina Aguilera
William: We did a week of writing. She kind of put some lyrics to what we were doing, or added some
Alison: [Chortles.] Careful what you say
W: We just left it with her. We had a nice time and she seemed like a very focused person and singer.
A: Dunno what's happening to the song though. We wrote one track and we never finished it because we weren't there long enough.
You don't usually write for others
A: No and that's partly why we did it. We just thought we'd try it out to see what it feels like.
Did you research her beforehand?
A: No.
W: I did, but I quickly stopped. I thought, "OK, but she doesn't have to be like that with us, does she? I thought she did a couple of really great songs. She's an amazing dancer, too.
A: In a way, I thought it was good to have no preconceptions, especially because she wanted to get away from what was expected of her, the sort of R&B vocal acrobatics.
And she had that performance where some critics thought she copied Lady Gaga, but it was also quite Goldfrapp
Yeah, well you know - bleachy hair, white, straighten it, put on some big shoes. It looks slightly futuristic and it's quite easy really.
LMAO
