59 is not a 'good' score. And I bet it'll go down over the next few weeks as more reviews come in.

I agree. But I was expecting a lower score from the start

• AND NEXT WEEK:

• The Billboard 200 is finally heating up after a long spell of lackluster weeks, as three just-released albums will make big bows on the tally next week.

• "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" soundtrack is going up against both Christina Aguilera's first studio release in nearly four years, "Bionic," and the latest EP from the cast of Fox TV's "Glee," "Journey to Regionals."

• Industry prognosticators think "Eclipse" will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with possibly as much as 140,000 to 160,000 copies sold by week's end on June 13. The last "Twilight" release, "New Moon," was released on a Friday and sold 115,000 in just three days, debuting at No. 2. In its first full week, it sold 153,000 and moved to No. 1.

Sources also predict that the "Glee" album might sell around 110,000 to 130,000 while Aguilera's "Bionic" could move 100,000 to 120,000 copies.

60 is a green score on metacritic. Beyonce's last one 'only' had a 62.

Well, that wasn't a very good album either, so you still don't have a point.

a score from 70 onwards is GOOD to me, 60 is mediocre.

Well I'm basing that on the metacritic rating 'currently' and not yours.

Praise the lord!  If 'Glee' beats Xtina I will cry tears of happiness.  Those wonderful kids deserve to triumph over that soulless sex bot any day .

And yes, I'll be listening to both their albums all week .

It would be a very happy day in lambdom.

I'd be more excited than if Mariah's went to #1 jk

What's especially triumphant for lambs is that Mariah, at 40 years old on her (12th?) album can still beat HoTina at 29 on her...4th album

HITS:

SOUNDTRACKS LAY CLAIM TO TOP SPOT

Can Twilight Saga Eclipse Another Glee Cast Album?

June 9, 2010

The summer sales doldrums lift briefly this week as a pair of soundtracks tries to take a bite out of the chart.
Chop Shop/Atlantic’s Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third in the series of popular teenage vampire movies, goes up against yet another Columbia Glee Cast album, Journey to Regionals, in a race for the top spot on next week’s HITS sales rundown.

Give Twilight a slight edge at 150-170k, with Glee at 140-160k, though the full effect of last night’s finale hasn’t quite impacted physical, meaning the franchise could well score its third #1 in less than two months. So don’t stop believin’ Gleeks.

That, of course, is based on results from those retailers around the country who are using CD sales to bring in toothpaste customers.

The week’s other big debut is RCA/RMG diva Christina Aguilera’s techno-heavy Bionic, just her fourth studio album since her self-titled 1999 bow, and expected to do between 120-125k. Her previous studio album, Back to Basics, came out in August 2006. A greatest hits album was released in Nov. 2008, selling 350k its first week.

That will give the top of the charts at least three 100k+ sellers next week.

Atlantic rappers Plies could do as much as 55-65k, while Capitol Nashville/EMI veteran Dierks Bentley’s new bluegrass album, Up on the Ridge, should sell in the 40-45k range.

Valory singer-songwriter turned country star Jewel’s latest, Sweet and Wild, is on target for 25-30k.

Also eyeing Top 50 debuts on next Tuesday’s chart are Curb’s Clay Walker (17-20k), Fueled by Ramen’s Travie McCoy, moonlighting front man for Gym Class Heroes (15-18k) and Hollywood Records’ highly touted roots rockers Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (15-18k).

The market was up 4% vs. last week, down 19% vs. same week last year and still down 11% year to date. With all due credit to the great Johnny Rotten, ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?

I wonder if Jack Johnson will land ahead of Aguilera next week? That would mean Bionic may only debut at #4.

Then again, Johnson should have the typical 60%-70% drop in the 2nd week and that should be enough for Bionic to debut at #3.

So Aguilera and Mariah are the 2 biggest divas with the biggest flops from the past year. I wonder if Bionic will be able to reach 500k.
