Yeah, the constant daily 'intentional' bashing is a big yawn for me. That's why I never intend on participating in such childishness and let 'them' have their fun.

It's so much fun! We are going to have the biggest celebration when first week US Sales are in
It has been my wish for like the past year and a half for this project to bomb (I had similar hopes for Alicia's latest effort).

I haven't listened to the album in full yet, I've literally had the first 3 tracks on repeat. I will say after dogging the hell out of 'Woohoo' it has grown on me but it doesn't sound like a hit...maybe if Ashanti or Keri Hilson was singing it, it'd be a nice urban hit. but Urban wont really touch a Christina song, and its too ghetto for pop radio, and Rhy radio doesn't like her.

Anyways, Its better if the album flops and its good material. It'll be like she worked hard for nothing. If the album sucks, then it was for it to flop.

Erica, whoever knew you had some much hatred in your heart?

No you're simply boring.

And you're simply a b*tch who continues to get on my nerves. I told you before, don't try me if you don't want me to get nasty.

Don't be sorry for saying you liked that performance!  While I may not share that opinion, I think you should be free to speak your mind and people should respect that.  It seems lately, if some people here don't agree with your opinion, they feel the need to put you down and laugh at your comments.  We all need to stand up for that.

And I have to agree, the Christina hate has crossed the line.  I don't particularly like her whatsoever, but I feel bad for people who do, and have to put up with this.  As with many things, it was funny in the beginning, but ya'll need to move on to something new.

She wasn't the only singer/celebrity who has dissed Mariah but I don't see the hate of the 'others' like Christina gets it here. Believe me, I could care less what ppl say about her in this thread. It just amazes me of the double standard. Ppl can hate who they want. But I hate when b*tches try and com at me b/c I don't agree with what they say or how they feel, yet in another thread where they like another artist, I'm all of a sudden being 'negative' when they are 'completely intentionally' negative in this very own thread on Xtina. Yea, the thread title really bothers me.  And the thing is, while you say that people are free to hate her, and others can praise her, it's not how it works around here.  The bashing is encouraged, while if anybody says anything positive, like the poster I quoted, they get harassed and made fun of!  That's not cool.

And my bigger issue with this whole thing is that it spread to the whole board.  I get it, most of us (including me) hate her, and it's fun to joke about it and all that.  I get it!  But it outgrew this thread, and now it's in every other thread, the whole clown thing pops up all the freakin' time!

I agree with you as well.  There are crazy double-standards on the forum.
Just like Erica said, you should be able to either praise or criticize whomever you want, that's our right.  But, imagine if, somebody says something negative about Beyonce!  You'll get a sh*t-storm of people jumping on you from all sides telling you to stay pressed, mad or whatever the newest thing is!  It's hypocritical.
(Disclaimer: I hate Christina and love Beyonce, so this in no way reflects my personal opinion, just an example.)

Why is this thread getting so damn deep all of a sudden? LOL The fact is that the majority of people here despise this woman, so I see no reason why we should be nice for the sake of a few fans who like her...this ain't a Christina board. If people were wishing death on her, I'd understand....but what's so jarring about saying 'Down With The Clown'? Oh, and LMAO @ some of the most vile people on this board calling out others for being "filled of hate".

I finally listened to the album. It's not that bad. I still think 'Woohoo' is stupid and a terrible choice for a single. It's ironic how they've promoted this 'futuristic dance' album by releasing 2 songs that sound like mid-2000s urban pop. I'm shocked she chose to end the regular edition of the album with 'Vanity'- although I feel she's being intentionally facetious/self-parodying on it, it's still a gross song to leave the listener with- even more than 'Thank You' on her last album lol. When her son grows up, he's gonna hear that song and vomit.

No, no one should be made fun of. And no one was. People expressed extreme opposition to the poster in question because of his statements that "it's ok for her to lipsynch uptempos" and pointed out that it was hypocritical for someone who has so publically bashed everyone else for lip-synching to then go and do it. (Ginger even posted a quote to prove this point).

No where was the poster personally insulted, he totally overreacted when he played the "Make fun of her (or me) if you want, you obviously have deep psychological issues" card. I don't think anyone said "you're an idiot for liking that performance" and there are people praising her in this thread.

Honestly, this is not the place to be discussing Christina if you have a problem with the vast majority disliking her. Yes, it's a silly joke, but the majority of people find it funny. It'll die down soon, probably in a week or two when this album is done. I don't see why everyone should stop having fun because a handful of people don't like it. There are plenty of jokes on this board that I don't get or think are a bit overdone but so what?

No one should personally get laughed at. Except the clown, but that's what clowns are for.

You know what, I know from experience that when I've tried to stand up for myself at various other occasions, the same people that ganged up on you, go run to the mods and complain!  And it just created unnecessary drama and tensions.

And I don't think I've ever bashed B, but when I say something that's not 100% positive, I get crucified by ya'll.  It's not just with Beyonce, but other issues too, that I'm a point where I'm not sure I should say what I think sometimes, because I know there'll be a backlash (but I say it anyway!).  Any Christina fans probably feel the same way.

well, i guess it's not only us that see how she sucks...

the washington post completely trashed her in their bionic review:

System Failure: Christina Aguilera, 'Bionic'

Amid accusations that she was cribbing from Lady Gaga, her leadoff single, the cluttered club anthem "Not Myself Tonight," was an immediate flop, and Aguilera ended up canceling several dates on her summer tour. The reason given was that she needed more time to practice, but did anyone actually buy that?

Aguilera should send flowers to M.I.A., who has actually been getting worse press for her upcoming album — releasing two middling tracks, a hyperviolent video and tweeting the private number of a writer who penned a less-than-adoring profile in the New York Times. Then again, maybe M.I.A. owes Christina, since their "Bionic" collaboration, "Elastic Love," is a trainwreck crashing into another trainwreck.

Even though Aguilera has worked with an impressive roster of producers and collaborators, "Bionic" lives down to its bad buzz. It's disjointed and punishingly long, as if the jittery din can convince you of her innovation and disguise the slight whiff of desperation. "Glam" and "My Girls" sound like runway fare, as if she's trying to land a slot on the "Sex & the City 2" soundtrack, while "Prima Donna" and "Vanity" are two of the most ridiculous odes to self-love ever written.

"Sex for Breakfast" is a "Birthday Sex" rip-off so ludicrous that it descends into parody, and in general, the lyrics range from embarrassing to REALLY embarrassing. "A rubberband is what I call your love for me, 'cause it comes and goes and pins me like a trampoline," she sings on "Elastic Love," with what sounds like a straight face. "A rubberband was an analogy, you could even say it's a metaphor for the tension between you and me."

Of the artists who emerged from the late '90s teen-pop field, Aguilera not only has the most powerful voice, but also seems to have the most fun with it, pushing its emotional and octave range. That instrument could compensate for so many sins, but "Bionic" doesn't give her much to sing. Instead she's constrained mostly to a half-sung rap cadence throughout the entire first half. The pair of power ballads later in the album — the anonymous "Lift Me Up" and the dreary "All I Need" — make for an adequate showcase for her pipes, but otherwise, anyone could be singing on "Bionic."

If Aguilera doesn't sound like herself on "Bionic," then perhaps that album title is more prescient than even she could imagine. Four years after her last album (which is several generations in pop music), she sounds like she's trying to remain relevant by rebuilding herself from pieces of other pop singers: the self-objectification of Britney, the outrageous self-sculpting of Lady Gaga, the dancefloor gender politics of Robyn, the robotic vulnerabilities of Janelle Monae and the tense rhythmic bangers of M.I.A. Yet, especially in a year that has seen superlative efforts from these women, Aguilera can only eat their dust.

She is, in fact, better than "Bionic." Her late '90s tracks "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants" hold up better than contemporaneous hits by Britney and N'Sync, and even as those artists (save Justin Timberlake) have combusted with tabloid chicanery or cartoonisly hypersexual songs, Aguilera kept her dignity by staying out of the tabloids, except for the rare mention of her devotion to her husband and son.

In 2006, "Back to Basics" sounded like a woman at the top of her game, so it still holds up in 2010. By comparison, "Bionic" doesn't dumb her down so much as it absents her almost entirely. As a result, it sounds instantly dated.

Christina's performance of Bionic/Not Myself Tonight/Woohoo was brilliant IMO.

I just don't like the first and last song much. But it was very entertaining.

I think it's more than a handful of people who don't like it. But as someone mentioned before: this thread is easily overseen as it's the topic title is confusing. I come here daily and skipped this thread for awhile as I didn't see it as the Xtina thread. Also, people are very sensitive when they see someone is made fun of, so they'll think twice about saying they don't like the jokes.

I don't like Christina's personality, neither do I like most of her new songs. I guess most of the haters like her more than me as they listen to her new songs. (I can't be bothered, the snippets were too disappointing for me). But I agree with iMariah, Colson and esettle0 on this one.

No offence, but I started to think there must really be some serious reasons/insecurities behind this permanent bashings on her. It's not just hate or fun; it's something more serious that only those people can figure out.

Anyway, really. I'm sorry for saying that I liked her performance.

The only thing I don't really like is the title of this thread. If some of us hate her and want to bash her, then that's our right. The same goes for if you like her and want to praise her. But the title of this thread is not clear as to who this topic is about. I feel like a new member, or someone that does not visit the Ohter Artist forum regularly could be confused and not even know this was a Christina topic from the title of it.

Plus I mean, first and foremost this is a Mariah Carey forum so we are dealing with Mariah fans. and Christina has publicly dissed Mariah more than once, so some ill-will toward her should be expected.... even if she wasn't a total b!tch with the worst personality in music history.

She wasn't the only singer/celebrity who has dissed Mariah but I don't see the hate of the 'others' like Christina gets it here.
Like who? I mean Madonna is an ICON, its hard to hate her for too long. Plus she has praised Mariah in recent years and said how much she liked TMB. Whitney and Mariah are cool now so that little beef is done. Everyone else that has talked about her negatively are irrelevant. And I was over Christina dissing her until she brought it up AGAIN when she was promoting her GH Collection. After that she was dead to me.

And what makes Christina's disses to Mariah so bothersome is that this chick came out praising her and much of her vocal stylings are inspired by Mariah. So for someone like Etta James to suddenly become her biggest inspration.....I just want to kick her in her mouth

Kevon, it's not just this case and instance.  What concerns me are the underlying double standards and hypocrisy, and blatant bullying that goes on.
And while it may not seem many people have an issue with it, I bet it's more than you think.  People are simply too intimidated to speak up, and probably don't want to start any drama.

Did you not watch the interview? The Prodigy is now her biggest inspiration.

'Bionic' (the song) is so damn good. Love the "Are you ready, ready, ready to go-g-g-go?" part before the chorus.
