That quote if from a Blender article from eight years ago.  Around that time she was throwing shade at other artists for lipsynching.  The whole article is a mess.  Here is a link.
Thank you.

Even though I wish she sang more of "Woohoo" (like the choreography by the way), it still was a pretty entertaining and satisfying performance for me. I'm glad the audience reacted to it well.

I don't care about her lipping unless the song is a ballad.
"The VMAs were so . . . so vanilla,” she says. “So safe, so predictable, no edge. Apart from Madonna, Mary J. Blige and myself, I cannot think of another female performer who had her mic switched on. That is very disappointing to me. I agreed to do it in the first place only because Madonna had told me that it was mandatory to sing live.”

Something palpable happens to Aguilera when she talks about Spears. She loses eye contact, focuses on her cuticles and grows visibly uncomfortable, as if wary of saying too much. But her dissatisfaction clearly needs a voice, and she duly gives it one. She suggests that although Spears sang live during rehearsals, when the show went on the air, she was lip-syncing.

“Who knows what happened, exactly,” Aguilera says, sighing. “She was supposed to, but somewhere along the line. . . . I don’t know. Maybe some money changed hands under the table? . . . ” She trails off awkwardly, then changes tack. “I’d much rather just wash my hands of the whole nonsense, actually. These people aren’t artists, they’re just performers — fake and superficial, like the entire event. I’m very disappointed with MTV. Just look at the way they handled the kiss.”

God I forgot about that.  I love how she is literally saying "I only agreed to do it because I wanted to show up Britney, and I'm not happy that Britney showed me up because no one even showed my kiss"

And her naming MJB - did she not see the look of distain MJB gave her on that kiss?

I'm sure you do. I didn't say your (or anyone's) life is valueless and I'm not defending her for being a celebrity or whatever she is. It's just those tired/childish ravings I'm seeing whenever someone tends to say something positive/favorable about her work and material. (Notice, I'm not saying anything about her personality 'cause my thoughts are mainly no different than most of the ones I'm reading here.)

No offence, but I started to think there must really be some serious reasons/insecurities behind this permanent bashings on her. It's not just hate or fun; it's something more serious that only those people can figure out.

Anyway, really. I'm sorry for saying that I liked her performance.

Yeah, the constant daily 'intentional' bashing is a big yawn for me. That's why I never intend on participating in such childishness and let 'them' have their fun.

really? I thought it was uneventful at best. She slayed the choreography when she did 'Keeps Gettin' Better' at the MTV Music Awards a couple years back. I was looking forward to something like that....but no.

It's so much fun! We are going to have the biggest celebration when first week US Sales are in
It has been my wish for like the past year and a half for this project to bomb (I had similar hopes for Alicia's latest effort).

I haven't listened to the album in full yet, I've literally had the first 3 tracks on repeat. I will say after dogging the hell out of 'Woohoo' it has grown on me but it doesn't sound like a hit...maybe if Ashanti or Keri Hilson was singing it, it'd be a nice urban hit. but Urban wont really touch a Christina song, and its too ghetto for pop radio, and Rhy radio doesn't like her.

Anyways, Its better if the album flops and its good material. It'll be like she worked hard for nothing. If the album sucks, then it was for it to flop.

In every interview she is "Inspired" by something or someone different. I mean the way she makes her music is like " Ooh I like that song, I want something exactly like that"
She is not inspired, she simply copies things she likes.
So fake, so fake.

I got to "I knew it was going to be a record of the future and one that I wanted to make since I was 15." and closed it. My bull$hit tolerance could only stomach that much.

Well, I'm one of those people that don't find hate to be a bad thing when used in those rare occasions when you truly despise something

But seriously, my best friend calls me Hilary Clinton because he claims my heart is a block of ice, and my ability to show emotion is impaired lol. I could be like urber happy, but I'll have the most stoic look on my face lol. I don't do it internationally tho.

lol, right. I don't wish harm upon her......unless her album flopping sends her into a deep depression that then leads to suicide (j/k). But that wont happen because if the album flops she'll do like she did with her last album and blame her fans for 'not getting it'.
