I heard that the Glee stdk and Twilight will be released next week also. So she'll have a little competition there.

Without question there will be a second single. You think the label are going to drop off the entire project after just one single? That would be insane.

I don't know why everyone is aiming over 200,000. She doesn't have any pop hits on the radio, Idol did NOTHING for her, and there are no plans for release before the album release. Even Britney wouldn't sell that much under those circumstances.

If she does over 200,000 then she's definitely not as 'over' as everyone is claiming.

Is 'WooHoo' not a single?

Having heard the album I kinda think that is probably the most single-worthy track on the CD... which is saying something because it's terrible except for Nicki's verse.

why not? 200,000 is dismal at her stage in her career. This is only her 4th album, and she's still young. 200,000 would be followed by a week below 100,000 and she'd struggle to scan 500,000. This chick is clearly on the brink of extinction.

I underestimated Whitney by like 300,000.  So with Christina I'm going to be really optimistic.

No way she's doing 200k in her 1st week. Her singles are flopping and she has lots of negative publicity surrounding her and the project.

Mariah sold 168k with a top 10 airplay hit (played on 3 different formats) and Memoirs got her the best reviews of the last decade.

I would argue that Daydream and Butterfly had better reviews, even if there's not a Metacritic score to compare.

No, I think overall Memoirs had the best rerviews out of ALL her albums, including Daydream and Butterfly (Which isn't really fair but well).

^ Some of the reviews Memoirs got I remember having back-handed compliments, despite an overall high score (which contributed to the final Metacritic score).
Daydream was praised for the subtle shift in sound and, with it, Mariah was told that she was finally finding an identity vocally and in her own style. Butterfly was praised for the lyrical content and the more R&B sound she explored.
True, Memoirs was praised for the cohesiveness it has, but IMO it doesn't compare to the praise the other two got.

Yes, I originally thought Whitney will do less than 200K because she has no radio hits, but it ended doing well in the first week.  I guess it all depends on the promotion and pricing.  MOAIA could have sold over 200K and hit #1 in the first week if the price was lower and there was strong promotions in that week.   Christina's promotions so far looked better than MOAIA with appearance in American Idol and MTV Movie Award.

We know that but officially, NMT was a 'buzz single' (translation - the first single flopped). I've not heard the label officially regard Woohoo as single number two.

Bionic

Bionic is not entirely a bad album. i think the biggest problem with it is that almost every single song sounds like somebody else' song. furthermore, even with her vocal abilities, i am kinda surprised coz this is the 1st time Christina seems to be unable to make the songs her own. as i was listening to tracks like Woo Hoo, Glam, Prima Donna, etc, i can't help but imagining if Beyonce or Britney sings them. they would be HITS for sure. but somehow, perhaps it's because of the negative press, Christina failed to make them her own, and failed to make them sound like huge hits.

LOL Are they really calling 'Not Myself Tonight' a "buzz" single? #FAIL.
What kind of buzz single gets a performance on Oprah, an official radio release, a hyped premiere on her website and a video? PLZ.   The general public is going to remember it as the (flop) lead single from her album and the first single she's put out after 4 years. The label can call it what they like, but the public will disagree
