For me Christina is a lousy "artist" but is an incredible vocalist.

The difference for me between Madonna and Xtina is that Madonna came across as a strong and powerful woman who was in control of her image.  Her sexuality came across as being very natural.  As opposed to Xtina, who comes across (again to me) as desperate, artificial and arrogant.  Xtina's sexuality/image does not seem natural but contrived.

Correct.

Madonna also has/had the success and legacy to back up her massive ego.  Christina, not so much.

It still doesn't make it any better. I despise artists who criticize other artists' work for no reason at all. If you don't like something, keep it to yourself. It's very unprofessional.

I say 120k tops. Back To Basics was coming off the relatively successful Stripped era and 'Ain't No Other Man' was received better...
This time she only has 2 flop singles and lots of negative controversy for all the sh*t she talks about and the copycat video she made.

Lamest stupidest comment ever.
You are comparing This moron clown to Madonna now, who has made good music, has been truly creative and inventive for a large portion of her career, as opposed to Walking Lipstick, who has had like 1 remotely "iconic" song out in her 4 studio album career.
She has no RIGHT to act like this.

Madonna may have been a b!tch (and lord I'm sure she was hated when she spoke smack about Mariah), but she's a smart woman there's no denying that. And I don't really like Madonna as a person, either.

But Christina is far worse. She lashes out solely for attention and through jealousy. She has beefs with everyone and I think when you have a list of people in your own industry who despise you, you can't blame it on the media. Mariah may have a bad public image, but pretty much every person in the music industry who has come across her or worked with her has had nothing but positive things to say about her.

Christina on the other hand gets backhanded compliments from the people that she's worked with at best.

Plus she is an idiot. Listening to her talk is like listening to one of those beauty pageant models who are asked about world affairs or something.

She's lucky she's been gifted with a voice, otherwise she'd be working in burger king just now.

Agreed, she tries to cover up her unintelligent "Hills girl" persona by ACTING like she's smart, and it makes her even more stupid.

LOL speaking of Madonna vs Mariah, to this very day I heart Mariah for the way she replied

Although all I remember is Madonna saying she wouldn't be caught dead singing silly Pop songs like Mariah's. Is that right or am I missing something? And that was a pretty lame comment from Madonna, considering what her songs are about now

^Yeah wasn't it something like "do you ever wish you were Mariah?" and she said "I'd kill myself" or something like that?

Anyway, yes, very ironic considering the fluff that Madonna is putting out now in an attempt to stay relevant.

Speaking of beefs I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Mariah confronted Cameron Diaz in a restaurant.

Precisely. Madonna and Christina don't even belong in the same sentence. Like her or loathe her, Madonna came across natural in her imagery and creative decisions. With Christina, it comes across desperate and copying whatever has worked for others of late.

On opening week, I'm gonna say 200k. I don't think it'll be a bomb. But I'm not expecting anything impressive with two flop singles and the Gaga issue she created off her own back. I expect it will drop like a stone over the next few weeks though.

Agreed. The sh*t she's been putting out most of the past decade she is one to talk.

I think at least 200,000.  Maybe up to 230,000.

I wonder what the next single is going to be.  I don't think a ballad is going to work in the summer.  Whatever the single will be, she needs to ease off the shock and awe imagery.
