If she brings out a hot album. she doesnt have to worry about anyone.. Mariah needs to focus on her songs..
And please no beyonce style album. Her album is so overrated..

After this album, she DOES need to be worried. E=MC2 has proven one clear thing - not even Mariah can be certain of success, despite the quality of the material. I'd do what I could to aim a release for the most strategic moment possible, its one less problem to interfere with success.
The quality wasnt that good. Only tmb, migrate and side effects are qualty songs that can be a hit.. The rest are decent songs, nothing special.. She was really focus on getting wbt part 2 .. And that is what mariah is doing wrong.. Never try to make a part 2 song.
And i think mariah should have taking a risk by releasing migrate as second single..
.

In your opinion, it wasnt that good. To myself and many, it was a very commercially viable album with loads of varied single potential. If an album like this can't catch on then you need to be damn careful with the next release. That includes as little competition as possible to interfere with her chances.
If the album was that good, why did bb,iblylt and isil flop..

most stupid comment ever

quality has nothing to do with success

Amen!

I think Mariah should release a CD around November/December of 2009 to get those big holiday sales like Beyonce, Taylor, and Britney. Somehow, I doubt we'll get a release that soon.

The main thing for Mariah is that she has to drum up interest for the new album- though E=MC2 did fairly well, she doesn't have anywhere near the momentum she had after TEOM. I'm hoping she'll go for a pop/dance album next time, and hopefully we won't be hearing a WBT part 4.

If she's pregnant then we def wont get an album in 2009! If She isnt, then theres a possibility they will just use the extra tracks for the postponed re-release and add further songs to rush an album out in 2009. However that would be foolish thing to do. She needs to go back in the studio and spend time on producing a quality new album like she did with E=MC2 in time for her 20th Anniversary in 2010!

I'd love to see a new album next year, if only so she dosent lose her foothold with younger audiences. The market seems even more fickle these days. But the whole holiday season release for maximum success is and has been proven to be somewhat overated, as other threads have discussed. More and more big artists are doing it and seeing diminishing returns with an overly crowed release schedule.

This year was just crazy and a lot of artists who did it havent seen the devastating numbers they wanted. I'd frankly encourage her to go for a more quiet period where she has less competition and is guarenteed more focus.
