um excuse me but Mariah would never put out something THIS bad....
1. At least Charmie had some songs that are *up there*. "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" was a great cover (unlike "A Song For
You" which cocoa basically butchered and murdered)
And then she went with a new sound (for her) with "Subtle Invitation" and "My Saving Grace". These songs were the precursor to some of the
TEOM songs. There is zero experiment in cocoa's album. Everything sounds safe, calculated and uninspired.
2. Lyrically Charmie is almost as good as "Butterfly". What she lacked in vocals, she made up for in lyrics. These lyrics chronicle a very colorful
period in Mariah's life. Prime example "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy". The lyrics are honest, personal and beautiful. Which other artist out there
writes such personal songs?
Sorry for the rant, but I just hate it when people compare "CB" to "I Look to You", which is basically a collection of tracks from hot of
the moment producers finished with crappy vocals.
