^I agree. This thread needs to be closed b/c it's way too long and someone should open up a new thread part 2 and put the album title on it.

can the mods create a new thread? this one is very long, and is all bickering. can we get a fresh start?

Charmbracelet had much better production and vocals than this 3 years in the making album. Charmbracelet only took a few months to finish and the overall product what much better than this long overdue album. This is the greatest comeback?? They have been taking to much crack...and as Whitney have said, CRACK IS WHACK.

1. At least Charmie had some songs that are *up there*. "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" was a great cover (unlike "A Song For You" which cocoa basically butchered and murdered)

And then she went with a new sound (for her) with "Subtle Invitation" and "My Saving Grace". These songs were the precursor to some of the TEOM songs. There is zero experiment in cocoa's album. Everything sounds safe, calculated and uninspired.

2. Lyrically Charmie is almost as good as "Butterfly". What she lacked in vocals, she made up for in lyrics. These lyrics chronicle a very colorful period in Mariah's life. Prime example "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy". The lyrics are honest, personal and beautiful. Which other artist out there writes such personal songs?

Sorry for the rant, but I just hate it when people compare "CB" to "I Look to You", which is basically a collection of tracks from hot of the moment producers finished with crappy vocals.

As long as this one gets moved to the Hall Of Fame section, I agree that we should get a part 2. This will be fun to watch in years to come for the nostalgia. image

I'd hate to lose all the pictures, the delusional posts/predictions of the stans and Tlc's hilarious posts.

I've been comparing the 2 albums in terms of commercial success/sales, because Whitney's will probably perform like it. 'CB' outshines 'ILTY' in quality (songwriting, melodies and even vocals) IMO.
