^ As much as Mariah resents those looks now, her looks in that era were perfect for the music and for her image. I'm not usually a fan of concert videos, but there was really no other option for "Hero." Videos are hard to do for that kind of song, and her performance and the dress and the lighting and everything were just perfect for the song.

It kinda sucked that we then got another performance video right after it, but for that "Without You" performance is the best of that song and tops the album version so it made sense, too.

Mariah's run from 1993-1996 is seriously incredible. Really, you could say 1992-1996 because of "I'll Be There." Look at the hit singles released in that time span:
"I'll Be There"
"Dreamlover"
"Hero"
"Without You"
"All I Want For Christmas Is You"
"Fantasy"
"One Sweet Day"
"Always Be My Baby"

That's an amazing run of perfectly crafted singles that all became hits and, for the most part, are still well-known. And then between Music Box, Merry Christmas, and Daydream, she sold about 60 million copies worldwide. It's astounding.
