Oh sorry jasp, I didn't realize you can read Mariah's mind. Every artist WANTS success. Every artist WISHES that the song they worked on and put their heart into can go to #1 and become the greatest sensation since "Macarena". But I was there IN THE ROOM when TWO very high-up IDJ executives told Mariah "Just so you know, this will NOT be your 19th #1 and it will NOT cross over" and she replied with "SO WHAT. You think I don't know that?" So don't give me your ridiculous replies. Thank you.
I think it's good that Mariah went with what she felt closest to her heart, and the type of music she loves, and didn't care about chart performance.  At the same time, I wonder how much time and money IDJ will invest in this project if Mariah insists on releasing songs that won't have hits potential.  On a greater extent, it will also affect other producers/song co-writers and even future music video directors who will involve in this project if they know Mariah will release what shes loves instead of what will showcase her vocal talent and songs that will get good public reception.  These collaborating producers/artists/directors could save their best idea and work for other artists instead of sharing with Mariah during their working session.

I love and respect Mariah.  Above are just my thoughts.
