Nor can we say for sure that in 10 years time, Gaga will be the next Paula or Adele will still be celebrated.

We can all only offer insights and opinions - your getting too hung up on the way someone like David will put something down in a definitive manner. Thats just his manner. Your opinion is just as valid as his so just say your piece - but say it and don't rely on things like it not being 2022 yet so it can't be proven. Thats a lame point and it just kills the whole discussion dead. Your bottling it rather than saying why you think 21 isn't good enough to have made an impact or why Gaga actually has.

I do agree with you that for me, Gaga will not be the next Paula Abdul and while I have no idea if Adele will be around in ten years time, I do think very much that 21 will be a fondly remembered, iconic album that was a real pop culture moment to the masses, very much like Jagged Little Pill was in the 90's.
Valid points. I think my main point of contention with other posters here is that I just don't see Gaga as a novelty act. She writes and produces all her songs, has a bigger online fanbase than any other pop star, and sells out international arena tours. I've said before several times that BTW missed the mark a bit and was a bloated, overindulgent project. But I don't think that changes the fact that her next tour is probably still going to be one of the biggest of the year and she'll continue to have success- look at how her Thanksgiving special did.
