I know, its horrorfying. Beyond Adele, pretty much everyone else on that list is shameful beyond Buble who has shifted so many albums in such a short period of time. Interesting to finally get figures for 4 - it sold less than even I expected. 1 million only worldwide, 1 mil US basically.
Ouch. I still wouldn't could it a flop but its dangerously close.
It scares me that something like 70% of that chart is filled with albums that have only done 1.5 million......and this is now considered a big selling amount to get into the Top 40. The industry really has changed and I think people need to start looking at the benchmark for sales to reflect it. Apart from 21's insane success, the general global target for albums from a big pop star can realistically only be between 5-7 million and no more.
