Oh yeah, I'd love if she could do something with that kind of sound, it's like R&B sound of my childhood and not something she's really done anymore than dabble in.
TEOM was a pseudo-retro style of an album, why not do one in this style?
Now that I think about it, something like Stay the Night would actually go into Born Is the King really well - they have a true R&B sound while at thr same time it's a bit of a throwback. This sensual sound, along with the neo-soul sounds of Circles and When Christmas Comes, is totally where I'd like for her to go on the next album..
You read my mind! Circles and Stay The Night were the first two songs to pop in my head when I said she had dabbled in it a bit

When Christmas Comes is still my favorite off of the X-mas album (or second favorite..)
Please tell me it was either CTIITAA or CBC
Yup, that's #2 and #3! I'd actually never heard CBC (somehow) before her version. I think it's beautiful though and has a hint of sadness to it.
I'd never heard it before Toni Braxton's version - a slightly jazzier (and longer (over four minutes)), yet equally stunning version.
I don't really understand how a person in America could not have heard CBS

.
I prefer Toni's version to Mariah's because it's longer and I think Toni's voice works better, though I certainly love Mariah's version.
