Why so much hate on, Christina?

I cant speak for everyone but I find her vulgar and quite horrid with a ridiculous number of fake, pretensious personalities the moment she needs to roll out a
new album. I dont like her as a person at all. On the talent front, her voice has been a sonic weapon of awfulness since 2002 that borders on being
unlistenable. She's one of those artist who I literally flinch at when she sings because its just so unpleasant.

I do think Stripped (vocals aside) is actually a well produced and varied album. But its the only thing in a decade she's done that been any good. The rest
of her albums have been of shockingly poor quality considering the gestation period between them.

Yeah, Stripped could've been one of my faves of the decade if it wasn't for the vocals. I think I had mentioned this earlier in this thread. The writing and production of the songs were good and a step up from the debut album, but I hated the vocals. She sounded constipated throughout. That's why I was perplexed how ppl kept praising her vocals on the album.

Anyway, I think this might be her last chance to remain relevant heading into the 2nd decade of her career. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out, especially with the 'perceived' lack of competition this upcoming year. Christina does need to steer clear of Lady Gaga. For some reason, ppl keep comparing the two women. A successful album for Christina, minimally, is for this album to go platinum. I think if she has a strong lead single, she'll be in good shape and she should get a coupe of top 10 pop hits.

Good points on all fronts. I agree this is coming up to a make or break period for her if she wants to survive. She's starting to come across as a has been and she's only in her late twenties. Her Greatest Hits really highlighted something I think she'd rather have avoided - she hasnt done all that much in a decade beyond the anthem of Genie In A Bottle and most of Stripped.

More of her relevancy was back in 2002/2003. Thats a looooooong time ago when you think about. Everything since then has underperformed and been pretty forgetable.
